I have had my computer randomly restart on me 6 times this last month and I am trying to narrow down the cause (driver, hardware, electrical, ect.) The only thing I am seeing in Event https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EywHwEcEHGw Viewer is "Level = Critical, Source = Kernel-Power, Event ID = 41, Task Category = 63" The first 4 times it happened it showed bug check 0, like this: BugcheckCode 0 BugcheckParameter1 0x0 BugcheckParameter2 0x0 BugcheckParameter3 0x0 BugcheckParameter4 0x0 SleepInProgress false PowerButtonTimestamp 0 The last 2 times have been different though, they have shown this: BugcheckCode 59 BugcheckParameter1 0xc0000005 BugcheckParameter2 0xfffff880071c23d0 BugcheckParameter3 0xfffff8800a9f9790 BugcheckParameter4 0x0 SleepInProgress false PowerButtonTimestamp 0 and also http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/46250-63-random-restarts-critical-kernel-power-event-task this: BugcheckCode 26 BugcheckParameter1 0x41790 BugcheckParameter2 0xfffffa8000b9d480 BugcheckParameter3 0xffff BugcheckParameter4 0x0 SleepInProgress false PowerButtonTimestamp 0 This last time I also got a BSOD, which I wasn't getting before (the computer would just restart without a BSOD) Any ideas? Score 0 bsoa 29 June 2012 12:36:42 Hello, Just ran Memtest86+, multiple passes with no errors, so I think the RAM is OK. My temps are good (35c average). The problem occurs randomly, sometimes 3 days apart, sometimes back to back in the same day. I noticed that at the exact same time I receive these kernel errors, I also receive an error from "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D. I tried some of the recommendations here, but no success: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/protec... I uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials yesterday and when my computer crashed today I still got the same error. So, I am assuming Microsoft Security Client is different from Microsoft Security Essentials. Is th
Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-41-source-Kernel-Power-eventno-10602-phase-1.htm quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2618974/random-restarts-critical-kernel-power-event-task-safe-mode.html to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes windows 10 per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more... Concepts to understand: What is the kernel? Comments: EventID.Net From a support forum: "In my case, this problem started after adding additional memory to my computer. Even though I ran all the memory tests against the RAM (such as memtest86+ and Windows Memory Diagnostic) with no issues, the problem would still persist. In the end, I had to adjust the RAM timing in order to stabilize the system, even though the additional memory was matching of the types supported by the manufacturer." x 9 EventID.Net ME2028504 provides information about this event being recorded in 3 different situations: 1. The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data - The suggested troubleshooting approach is to find the Stop error code and lookup the information for that type of error. See EV100536 (How to Debug Kernel Mode Blue Screen Crashes (for beginners)). 2. The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button - The suggestion is to read ME974476. 3. The system randomly restarts

Also if you are using Win 8 un-tick fast boot could be why its taking 4 hours in safe mode.. Don't ask why just a felling. Let us know what happens. Also check you laptop does not have it's own power options setting just select thing to stay on for now. Reply to Im Spartacus m 0 l Torgier May 19, 2016 5:28:27 AM One solution I found is to go into the bios settings and make sure that the ram frequency is correct. I think it should be under dram frequency in the bios. It should say on your ram what it's frequency is.
