I recently encountered some trouble with windows 10 my pc (a BENQ) with respect to starting it up. During a system restore, a power failure occurred, and ever since I tried to start up the pc, I receive the following error just before the desktop appears: "Explorer.EXE - Unable to Locate Component: This application has failed to start because WININET.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem." This error prevents wininet.dll missing windows me from accessing anything on my desktop (icons, task bar, etc) - only the desktop background shows up, and all that I can have access to is the Task Manager (Control+Alt+Delete). I was told to go to this site www.dll-files.com to download the wininet.dll component, but I am not sure as to what I have to do with it after I download it (the downloaded file is currently saved on my computer as a "stack of books" icon. Aparently, it is a "zip" file, but I don't know how to "extract" it and what to do next thereafter. I have an empty CD or USB device to transport the file to the problematic pc. What do I do? Can someone here please run me through some easy steps? My operating system is Windows XP. I would very much appreciate any assistance. Please note that my computer knowledge sucks!
