produced for Windows. This SYS file carries a popularity rating of 2 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are SYS Files? SYS files such as IASTOR.SYS are third-party (eg. Dell) device drivers or critical system files that come as part of the Windows operating system. Most SYS files allow internal PC hardware or attached hardware, such as iastor.sys hp a printer, to communicate with third-party software programs (eg. web browsers, word processors, Dell Precision n Series System Software) and the operating system (eg. Windows).Other SYS files are critical system files called "kernel mode device drivers" which are used to power the Windows operating system. Files such as "CONFIG.SYS" contain configuration settings and specify what device drivers should be loaded by the operating system. Without driver files such as IASTOR.SYS, you wouldn't be able to do simple tasks such as printing a document. Why Do I Have SYS Errors? SYS file errors are typically caused by faulty hardware or corrupt device driver files. Because of the importance of IASTOR.SYS in the functionality of Dell Precision n Series System Software and other Windows functions, any corruption or damage to this file can create critical system errors in the form of a "blue screen of death" (BSOD). Please see "Causes of IASTOR.SYS Errors" below for more information. When Do SYS Errors Occur? SYS errors, such as those associated with IASTOR.SYS, most often occur during computer startup, p

Share icecoldsnake 13 May 2013 22:09:54 New desktop was running fine until today. Got iastor.sys windows xp home and turned her on and it said "Windows is shutting down in one minute" (most likely due to my shutdown task iastor.sys driver scheduled to execute when the system was hibernating, but that's a story for another thread). After shutdown, the system remained powered on (again, problem for a third thread). After the usual suffocation by holding the power http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/bsod-blue-screen-error/sys/windows/dell/dell-precision-n-series-system-software/iastor-sys/ button, I fired the system back on and BSOD. Reboot, and BSOD. Turns out the BSOD happens right as windows is "starting". I can't even get the system into Safe Mode as it fails to load iaStor.sys. The culprit here is iaStor.sys Any help would be greatly appreciated. If your OS was installed with the RAID controller active make sure it is still active in BIOS. If not try booting with the controller in AHCI mode preferably or in IDE mode if all else fails. Otherwise you are probably looking at a corrupt driver or Hard Drive failure. m 0 l Best solution asen121 23 August 2014 20:05:08 Boot Through A Live OS Like Fedora,Bodhi etc And Format The Partition In Which Your OS Is Installed! So I factory reset, but I don't think it wiped all the files, because I am still getting the screen. I uninstalled the driver associated with the file (Intel Mobile Express Chip set SATA RAID Controller) and that didn't fix it. I've also tried to run the diagnostic in the BIOS menu and that hasn't fixed it (and it often blue screens while its running). I want to factory reset it for real, which I suspect it didn't do because I was running it through dell datasafe. I was running the reset that way because, due to another (since fixed) issue, I factory reset my computer about a month ago. Since then it hasn't made any restore points (not sure how that happened) and it was telling me there was nothing to restore from. I'm on a dell xsp 14 ultrabook running 64 bit windows 7, so I don't have a disk drive, and I don't have an external one, either. I do have a pretty large external hard drive, so if I needed to run something off of that I could. The blue screen is happening more and more frequenrly and I'm worried it will stop working all together soon. If anyone can help me, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks. PS I will upload my minidump info shortly. Mar 1, 2015 #1 McKinley Larson TS Rookie Topic Starter Here's the blue screen info. It may actually be a failing hard drive or SSD drive in your notebook PC, causing the blue screens Mar 1, 2015 #3 McKinley Larson TS Rookie Topic Starter Tmagic650 said: ↑ I'm afraid
