Try setting the ipod to recovery mode, hole the menu + center buttons until the ipod powers off, then immediately release the menu and hold play + center button until you see a check display on your ipod screen, your ipod is now on recovery mode, open itunes then connect your ipod make sure you have the latest firmware on the ipod, itunes will tell you if you don't, another possibility, try hooking up the ipod to another computer like a friend just to see if itunes recognize it. if it does, means the ipod drivers on your computer have become corrupted in either case doing a restore of the ipod will replace the ipod drivers. Also connect your iPod to your computer directly to the USB that comes of the motherboard. Try not to use a front (desktop PC only)or through a hub. Also check the cable that connects your iPod to the computer. Good Luck and let us know how it is going :) Was this answer helpful?
