Machine Check Exception Windows 10 Fix
Posts 8 Machine Check Error Hello community, I am currently installing Untangle NG Firewall Version 11.0.1 on a brand new custom system. Specifications for the system are; ASRock Motherboard H97M Pro4 Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2Ghz LGA 1150 Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Corsair Builder Series CX500 V2 500W Power Supply Intel EXPI9301CT Desktop Adapter Gigabit CT 10/100/1000Mbps PCI-Express Asus 24X DVD Burner Samsung 850 Pro Series 2.5" 256GB SATA windows 10 machine check exception III SSD Corsair Carbide Series 200R Now the problem is, I get a "Machine Check Error", when I boot from the CD to install. I swapped CDs to an older version, and same thing. Also swapped CDs to a Windows 7, and obviously that booted up. So it leaves me to think that I'd have to change something in the BIOS to get Untangle to boot and install. Has anyone had this problem before, or does anyone have any leads on where I can start looking, or changing settings? Any help would be great, thank you! 03-23-2015,08:27 AM #2 dwasserman Join Date Jun 2008 Location Argentina Posts 4,237 I dont know this bios, but try disabling all UEFI and any special and modern management of SATA. I'll keep updating on how its going. Oh, you're from Argentina? I was born there! I love it... I do homework, work related stuff and everything else like web browsing and playing games on it. Everything is new, or within 4 months and I get an error today. I was playing a game and the PC froze, nothing happened then a blue screen with Machine Check Exception as the last thing, it said it needed to gather information. After 2 hours of it being at 100% and nothing, I powered my machine https://forums.untangle.com/installation/35360-machine-check-error.html off and since then it hasn't turned on. Its plugged in the same way it always has, I turn on the power but BIOS doesnt boot. Just blank black screen. There was ONE time in maybe 50 tries that windows popped up, but before it could load properly the same thing, Machine Check Exception. I don't know what to do to fix the issue, I have some important documents that id like not to lose, but as long as the PC works it http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3032995/machine-check-exception-turns-bios.html should be fine with me. Ive tried multiple things like removing the disk drive as many people suggested, completely remove and clean the power supply, check for any cables that arent in the right place, nothing has fixed my issue. I have Windows 10 disk(I know, I don't like it either, that has a bunch of problems within itself that bug the hell out of me) but it doesn't seem to do me any good as It doesnt give me the ability to launch from the disk or reload windows. Anything you guys can think of? More about : machine check exception turns bios DeadlyDays 16 April 2016 00:46:00 RAM, take it out and try booting with one at a time until it boots. EDIT to add detail. A motherboard won't POST(or show bios, or boot, etc)(to clarify, won't do anything at all really, you would hit power button, light might pop on, but then turn off. no MOBO beep for Post) if a single RAM module isn't inserted all the way or is malfunctioning. it isn't a hard drive issue if it isn't posting or booting into bios, but it could also be a PSU, Motherboard, or CPU issue. Out of all of those, RAM is easiest to check, and only the PSU is more likely to be the issue followed by motherboard and then the cpu. But testing Mobo and CPU can be tricky to see if they are the issue. It could be a GPU

The GPT partitioning is likely causing your problem. Are you installing Win 10 with CSM Enabled or Disabled? If it is Enabled, do you have the Launch Storage Op ROM policy set to UEFI only? That is required when CSM is Enabled for a Windows installation on a SM951. thewanderer66 Members Profile Send Private Message Find Members Posts
