System is 'freezing up' sporadically Ok...I'm back. Boot up process issue is gone, but my system is still 'freezing up' sporadically. I'm not sure what program is causing this...but it tends to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-performance/wmiaprpl-service-failure-causing-laptop-to-freeze/3e0636da-962f-41f3-8565-6e3bd893b813 happen when I attempt to launch Firefox after the system boots up -OR- after the system has sat idle for a period of time. Suggestions?? sganderson View Public Profile Find all posts by sganderson #2 April 4th, 2011, 10:05 PM AnnMarie CTH Subscriber Join Date: Oct 2001 O/S: Windows Vista 32-bit Location: New Zealand Posts: 59,811 Steve, I have started a new http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214748 topic for you. Please post all new issues in a new topic. Intermittent issues can be really difficult to pinpoint. Try booting into Safe Mode with Networking (restart your computer and tap F8 as it restarts) and run that way for a day. Does the problem still occur? It seems that if I attempt to launch programs (Firefox for example) shortly after booting the system up -or- after the system has sat idle for a little bit, that is when the issue occurs. Perhaps there are still programs / processes still running in the background at these times that need to finish up....?? sganderson View Public Profile Find all posts by sganderson #4 April 5th, 2011, 04:22 AM AnnMarie CTH Subscriber Join Date: Oct 2001 O/S: Windows Vista 32-bit Location: New Zealand Posts: 59,811 Have a look in Event Viewer and see if any Errors (not Information or Warnings) were recorded at the time
