One is Windows XP, the other is Vista. I've done the uninstall and reinstall thing already. The Windows XP one ran fine for the first few days, but then http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/913818-the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind/48896449 crashed suddenly on me. Now, whenever I try to open Morrowind, my computer reboots. I don't get any errors, it just reboots. On the Vista Machine (though, I'd really like to play it on the XP machine) the game gives me the standard errors that people get with Vista (I could screenshot them, if it really matters) and crashes. If I put it in compatibility mode (I've tried them all, and all combinations with the check boxes) it will just crash without loading at all, no errors. As I said, I'd much rather play it on the XP machine. However, after googleing the problem, I saw several people bragging they could get it to work flawlessly with Vista, but they never chose to say how they did it. I finally got Bloodmoon and Tribunal and want to play them, 'back in the day' I only had the original.User Info: Zabin_KingZabin_King (Topic Creator)8 years ago#2Oh, and I have the latest patches and zero mod

It always crashes windows 10 after that.It worked when I first got it for about a month, and now it never works. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and have no mods, and it still does the exact same thing. I've tried running it as administrator and running in compatibility mode, and nothing fixes it. Is it Vista? If so, why did it decide to never play again all of a sudden? Is it Steam?I've searched morrowind windows 10 google, and I find some people who have the same problem... but there is never a solution. Am I destined to never play Morrowind again?User Info: TrughbullTrughbull 7 years ago#2I had hoped someone else would have handled this by now because there are technical issues with Vista I am not comfortable discussing...but you are about to be archived as unanswered so I am compelled to give it a swat.Morrowind does not support Vista. That said, I have been running it on Vista over two years with very few problems. YOUR problem is Morrowind does not "uninstall" properly on the Vista platform. There are "inconsistencies" in the files that have to be stored on the hard drive in "Compatibility Mode". The workaround I used is as follows.1. Uninstall the product using the Morrowind CD procedure.2. Use Windows ADD/REMOVE to uninstall any vestiges of Morrowind software (The Construction Set and ALL mods) IF any are listed on the ADD/REMOVE screens.3. Manually delete the Morrowind folder from your hard drive. (This will lose your save files).... This should allow your Morrowind CD to be re-installed with "virgin" defaults, Morrowind first, Tribunal second, and Bloodmoon third, with NO interference from "compatibility files" that seem to confuse the install process into using the WRONG or

The game takes place on the island of Vvardenfell, a district in the Dunmeri province of Morrowind. It is smaller in scope than the previous games in the main series, Daggerfall and Arena, yet much more detailed. This epic, open-ended RPG allows for a wide variety of character designs and play styles. The game continues to be sold on store shelve
