Follow the instructions in the link below to delete upper and lower filter values in the registry and reboot. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;311755&Product=winxp However I'm a little concerned that the registry location they give for this editing may be incorrect; the key may not exist. The error message I receive is: "The file c:\windows\system32\ntdll is open or in use by another application. Close all other applications and then click Retry."I've closed nearly everything in the system tray that can be closed including the anti-virus and spy sweeper, The only programs that appear to be open are Microsoft Update in Internet Explorer and Software Update Installation Wizard. In the Windows Task Manager, there are other processes running in the background but none that obviously point to the NTDLL.dll. If I view the contents of the Error Report, I see C:\Windows\temp\WAT20C.tmp (twice). Because I can't close whatever has ntdll.dll open, the install fails. My OS is XP Pro.Suggestions are appreciated! Close all other applications and then click Retry." ......But in Norwegian language, as long as i am an Norwegian :) I have'd installed Norton Internet Security 2009. Disable It !! It was my antivirus who couses this problem. Go Start > Run: Services.msc >Look for Norton Anttivirus in the list > and stop it. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDsPmns7eoU Now in this moment am installing Win XP Servicepack 3 smoothly :) Good luck to you all !
