- 2009-01-21 I've the identical error as reported above. PG did not run. OS Vista Ultimate 64-bit w/ SP 1 Windows firewall Avast antivirus Successfully ran the command line as this release required per the installation notes (shown below). PG never started until command completed and machine was restarted. # Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click Command Prompt -> Run as administrator. # Copy the following exactly (without quotes): "bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS". Right click on the title bar, go to Edit -> Paste. Make sure what was pasted is correct, then hit enter to execute the command. # Reboot the machine # Now the first time you load PeerGuardian you will see a message like the below. If you performed the above steps correctly, it is safe to ignore this. You can make sure by turning on Show Allowed under settings, and making sure an IP scrolls by when you visit a website. The helper program for this is configurable in pglgui (Options- Settings - Sudo front-end). If you can't start pglgui edit in ~/.config/pgl/pglgui.conf the entry [paths]. In Gnome environments I recommend to use gksu: Code: [paths] super_user=/usr/bin/gksu In the long run we will replace this by using policykit. Help welcome. Please post your logfiles and output of commands wrapped in code tags: Code:
output
Co-author of PeerGuardian Linux (pgl). Close PB, uninstall PG2, re-open PB and it will work no worries. from memory uninstalling PG2 leaves the old config file, double check it's been deleted in program files.
