0 My windows 10 randomly refresh device manager and that hardware change sound makes me crazy. it gaves me errors like this Metadata staging http://www.windows10forums.com/threads/windows-10-device-manager-problem.7893/ failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{8939892F-E1F8-11E5-9BD6-20CF30D6F7BB}' Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188 Blagoi, Mar 6, 2016 #1 Advertisements Regedit32 Moderator Joined: Mar 4, 2016 Messages: 1,214 Likes Received: 206 Hello https://hardforum.com/threads/ssd-tweaks.1737588/ Blagoi, Re the Metadata staging failed error. Typically this occurs when the Network List Service attempts to access Internet before your router has booted. To resolve this issue you can delay the start windows 10 of the service by doing the following: Press WinKey + R to open Run dialog Type services.msc then press Enter or click OK In the window that opens scroll down and double click 'Network List Service' In the window that opens click the drop arrow next to Startup type and select Automatic (Delayed Start) Click Apply and close out the Services dialog pane Re the ReadyBoot what is readyboot stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188. On booting up the boot files are cached and a file named readyboot.etl is created. This cache will auto re-create each time you boot your PC. Windows 10 default setting for memory space for this process is 20MB. The error you are getting hints that the 20MB is not large enough for the cache file to be created. You could confirm that by taking a look at the Windows Event Error logs if you prefer. If indeed this is the problem them the simple solution is to increase the Memory Space allocated for this process. To do that do the following: Press WinKey + R to open your Run dialog Type perfmon.msc then press Enter Key or click OK In the Performance Monitor window that opens in the Left Pane expand 'Data Collector Sets' Next in the Left Pane click on 'Startup Event Trace Sessions' Now in the Right Pane - double click 'ReadyBoot' Click on the Stop Condition tab Click the Arrow to increase the Maximum Size. Do not exceed 256MB !! Click APPLY and close Performance Monitor Happy computing. Regedit32 Regedit32, Mar 6, 2016 #2 Advertise

Discussion in 'SSDs & Data Storage' started by Faethon, Jan 3, 2013. Jan 3, 2013 #1 Faethon Gawd Messages: 1,011 Joined: Oct 31, 2005 Hi, i am confused after reading controversial opinions about some SSD "tweaks". Most notably, Superfetch. I have googled and found passionate opinions about that and i wonder if by now the things have settled to a more "common opinion". Win7 is "supposed" to disable Superfetch and disk defragmenting. In my PC, the WEI gives 7.9 score to my humble Kingston VP200 120GB SATA3. Windows though didn't disable disk defragmenting (i disabled it manually) and has set Superfetch to "manual". Unfortunately, this is probably causing repeating event viewer errors about Readyboot: The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 bytes. Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188 So, i am wondering whether the guys saying Superfetch should be on, were right after all. What is the consensus nowdays? Thank you.
