Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) Windows System32 Config System
Weakness words Newbie Posts: 14Loc: West Coast, USA 3+ Months Ago Oh boy Here goes... I had a multi 0 disk 0 rdisk 0 partition 2 windows system32 drivers mup sys similar sounding problem. First, I received a message that MS recovered from a critical error. Then, after a minute or two the computer would shut down and a list of files from the driver folder would display for about 30 seconds. and then the boot menu would appear. "Safe Mode, reboot from last known configuration, Normal Mode" menu. The computer would sometimes keep cycling in a shutdown, start booting up then restart. It turned out to be a corrupt driver from my Linksys USB Network Adapter. It was solved after I replaced the device with a dLink. And uninstalled the Linksys device. Recommend: Unhook all unnecessary peripheral devices so all you have connected is monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Uninstall devices by going to My Computer, right-click and select Properties, and then click on Device Manager. Click on the "+" beside the category then select a device. Right-Click the device and select Uninstall. Now keep track of which devices you Uninstall: Display Adapter, keyboard, mouse, USB network adapter if you have one, printer, etc and when you reboot your computer XP will install fresh drivers from a system file it stores. In the case of the Linksys USB Network Adapter I had to uninstall the driver then reinstall it from CD it came with. Goto Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall/Install Programs and uninstall the Linksys driver. If that doesn't help then you may have to use the recover feature. Look for directions on how to use. Cheers, Words Weakness Born Posts: 2Loc: UK 3+ Months Ago Thanks for the reply Words, i can't load on safe mode though anyone else got any suggestion

Can't access Window XP even in safemode Byshellb411 Jan 26, 2008 My laptop was working fine then the other day I went to use it and it http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/help-cant-access-window-xp-even-in-safe-mode.97778/ froze so I rebooted and got this message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM When I was finally able to get to the point where I could choose safemode this is what came up: Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntoskrnl.exe Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\hal.dll Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\KDCOM.DLL Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BOOTVID.dll Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\config\system Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\config\system.alt Then after a pause it would tell me to use the original disk to repair but that's not working! I don't know what else to try but my financial files are there and I REALLY need those - don't care about the rest of it. Is there something I will be able to do to regain access? or some other way that the info will be able to be retrieved?? My desktop loaded as multi disk partition per usual but I could not select ANYTHING on it. The only thing I can do is open Avast from the tray and run a general scan which says everything is ok, and I can open up the Start menu, but not select anything, and I can open up the Task Manager which shows a bunch of processes happening but no applications, and I can open up a Run command box but nothing happens. The hourglass keeps spinning (or in this case, the dinosaur keeps walking). I tried to start in Safe mode but I get along list of drivers on a black page, ending in multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys. If I leave that onscreen for a few minutes, it then flashes to a BSOD, saying Windows has encountered an error and needs to restart (can't see the rest) and then goes back to the screen asking me which mode to start in and when I select Safe mode again, it then starts up and goes to the desktop which doesn't work again. I can see everything just sitting there, and I can't access a single thing! I do not have an XP disk, as my old laptop came already installed. I am in Africa in the mi

Tags:boot loop Tohikum December 31, 2014 at 11:35:06 Specs: Windows XP A few days ago I woke up at night to find my laptop turning on and not long after turning off, going into complete boot loop. When I turned computer off and on the boot loop continued where it would show the acer logo and then it would give me some of the advanced option menu choices: to go into a safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration (your most recent settings that worked), start windows normally. If I didn't click anything after around half minute it would take me to windows logo and then a flash of blue screen would appear, and then again computer would log off. If I clicked to start windows normally or last known good configuration the same thing happened. If I tried to log with any of the safe modes it would give me this:multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\ohci1394.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\1394BUS.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\compbatt.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\BATTC.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\pciide.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\PCIIDEX.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\pcmcia.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\drivers\MountMgr.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\ftdisk.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\drivers\dmload.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\dmio.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\ACPIEC.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\OPRGHDLR.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\drivers\PartMgr.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2) WINDOWS\system32\drivers\VolSnap.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition (2)
