Try cleaning the heads to see if that works or Try copying d:\i386 x86 windows xp to c:\windows\i386 and run the install from c:\windows\i386 ultrasolve View Public Profile Send a private message to ultrasolve Find all posts by ultrasolve #3 02-27-2004, 09:04 AM Tmaslanka Offline Registered User Join Date: Feb 2004 Posts: 2 Same condition I changed the CD burner but received the same responce except I get a "Manifest Parse Error : Invalid at the top of the document."Maybe because its a volume license? Installing Windows XP Pro gets as https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1308219?tstart=0 far as Configuring XP options page and then errors out with this message:Installation Failure D:\I386\asms Incorrect Functionany ideas. My PC guru thinks it may be having problems identifying / reading the CD drive so the installation cannot continue. The Mac it's being put on is an iMac Intel Core Duo 1.83ghz 512mb RAM (Combi Drive)Incidentally It worked fine with Vista previously, but Vista is rubbish and my friend with the Mac could not use his software. Hence windows xp going back to XP. Prior to putting XP on the Mac (well trying!!!!) we did a flatten and clean install of Leopard before using Boot CampHELP Apple G5 dual 2GHz / Apple iMac 2GHz / Apple IIe, Mac OS X (10.4.6), G5 2gig Ram Posted on Dec 26, 2007 6:41 AM I have this question too by xnav,Solvedanswer xnav Level 5 (6,640 points) A: Try this with your non-SP2 disc: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.aspIf it works it will eliminate hardware error i386 windows as the problem. (It installs fine on a PC). It's a Microsoft Windows Development Group CDr, The only 'pressed' Cd I have is XP without Service Pack 2 (that's on another disc) so I can't use it.
