I was running win xp sp3 on vmware workstation trial. But because those douches fucked up version 9, I can no longer have directx support. So I was trying to move to Virtualbox. I've been trying to migrate the VM but with no success. I removed vmware tools and downgraded the VM HW to workstation 7 before exporting to OVF. When importing in VBox I still had some issues with some I/O devices, but I removed them from the XML and it finally imported successfully. I've tried using the disk as SCSI (as it was in vmware) and as well as IDE, but with no success. I always get "Error loading Operating System". I booted with win cd and went into recovery mode, there I tried fixing the bootloader with "fixboot" command, but it didn't solve anything. How do I fix th

Error Message Error Loading Operating System Cause Each virtual machine has VMDK descriptor file(s) in virtual disk(s), and there is a parameter "ddb.geometry.sectors" in a VMDK descriptor file. ESX always sets the parameter as a fixed value when creating the virtual machine. For instance, the parameter is set as 63 when a virtual disk is larger than 2GB. For details, please refer to the VMware KB 1026266 in below Solution section. Similarly, the parameter is set as the fixed value even if restoring a virtual machine where the parameter is set as the customized value (e.g. ddb.geometry.sectors = "53"). In this case, the parameter is different from the original one, and the restored virtual machine fails to be started with an error "Error Loading Operating System". Also the same issue can occur when P2V is performed. Solution Please edit VMDK descriptor file(s) to set a parameter "ddb.geometry.sectors", "ddb.geometry.headers" and "ddb.geometry.clinders" as the original values when this issue occurred. As
