How To Fix Xbox 360 Hard Drive
Permalink History Subscribe Unsubscribe How to fix hard drive causing error E68? I bought a hard drive online and it's causing my new Slim to have the E68 error. Just wanted to ask if anyone knew how to repair it http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/errors/error-code-e68 so I don't have to buy a new one. If not, you might consider getting one that is. Now, on to the fix(es). There are multiple YouTube videos that deal with this, and everyone seems to have their own fix. There's this young man who simply does some cable unplugging and plugging to get the error code to go away. I'm sure a little more digging will bring up a dozen more potential fixes. This error means that the Xbox 360 has insufficent power to function properly. This can be caused by an error in the hard drive or the fans that make them suck up xbox 360 slim too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well. Up until last night I hadn't used my 360 Slim in quite a while. One thing that I hate about it is the fact that the power and eject buttons are touch sensitive and not actual buttons that you press.
