Xbox 360 Error Code E74
360 (early model- no HDMI). Have done the check with the sync button and eject button and got code 4424 which xbox 360 error code 80072ef3 I belive means "Bridged solder joint or short ‐ CPU/GPU/RAM". Does this mean that the console is scrap? This could be related to several different issues and hasn't necessarily been pinpointed to one problem in particular. Two of the most common problems are with the x-clamps and cold solder points. The x-clamps could be putting too much pressure on certain parts of the board now from all the wear of constant heating and cooling. This can be fixed using the X-Clamp fix and is fairly easy with the right tools.Cold solder points basically means that points in the solder holding the chips on have cracked from rapid heating and cooling. This can be fixed with the simple "towel trick". I would suggest trying the towel trick first as it is free and the simplest. Next I would suggest the X-Clamp fix. You can find guides to all of these with a simple google search. If neither of these works then it may be time to call for a new xbox,

Restarting the console seems to fix this and I can play a few days in xbox 360 a row without problems. Is this something I should be worried about? I let my 30 days past purchase go by without signing up for the extended warranty. Wasnt booting at 1st then I touched the av cable and it booted with the lights still flashing. It went out but then I pushed down on the av cable and it worked. So maybe the bad sodder is in that area?
