Flasher Xbox 360 Benq
January 2011 - 11:05 PM So here's the whole story... I'll make it as easy to follow/skim as xbox 360 benq flashen possible.-Before any of this went down I was running a Benq drive with LT flashed onto it and everything was working beautifully.-In the fall when all the AP2.0 stuff started flying around I didn't update my fw because the only game I've been playing was Black Ops and it wasn't affected. -Fast forward to this past Wednesday (Jan 19/10) Xbox pushed out their new dashboard update. Not thinking I updated and http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/105066-HELP!!!-ERROR-E65-on-BENQ! then started getting the same shit everyone else was.-Checked my box on xval and I'm not flagged... yet.-After doing some research I decided it was time to upgrade my fw so I started going through the process.-When I got to the point when I had to write the new fw to the drive my vista x64 pc froze. (This is the same pc I used the first time around and for 2 dif xboxs)-Tried a few more times, kept freezing.-At this point I noticed that the DVD drive was no http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?/topic/727395-error-e65-need-help-please-read/ longer opening or closing. Shitty.-I hooked it back up to my tv and got a black screen with a bunch of test in different languages and error 65 at the bottom.-From what I've found error 65 is linked to the dvd drive (makes sense).-I tried to go through the flashing process again but as soon as I turn the xbox on while it's hooked to the pc it (the pc) instantly freezes every time.So this is where I'm stuck. My hunch is that the e65 and no open/close is happening because there's no fw or half a fw on there and as a result the drive isn't responding because it doesn't know what to do. Thoughts? From what I've read WinXP x32 seems to have the best success rate when it comes to doing this. I set aside a partition on my drive but when I try to boot off the xp dvd, just before it gets to the part where it would start asking questions it blue screens. Is this even worth pursuing? I have enough parts around to build an xp rig if it's worth it but I don't want to waste my time. Also, I have an older Samsung drive from a previous, dead, xbox. Is there a way to port that over if this one is dead to the world? All I want to do is get my box up and running again. I'll try anything that works. Please help guys. E65 error on boot of an Xbox 360 console represents a general hardware failure. A user will be prompted to contact Microsoft Customer Support http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/term.cfm/e65 with an on-screen error message. Additionally, a single blinking red light will be present in section 4 of the ring of light on the front of the console, as can be seen in the picture. An E65 error is similar to an E64 error in that it usually has something to do with the DVD-ROM drive. One known cause is the drive not being xbox 360 DMA configured. This could be a result of tampering on the part of the user (in which case, your warranty is gone). However, in some cases, this could simply be caused by the DVD-ROM drive tray not being fully closed when the console boots. This error is also related to a problem with firmware. This could be a result of a user attempting to xbox 360 benq flash modified firmware and being unsuccessful, in which case, again, the warranty is gone (if the console had any to begin with). If this error is seen after flashing, then attempting to restore the original firmware might be a good idea. If that fails, another possible option would be to install a replacement drive spoofed with the original drive's DVD KEY, which the user should still have from the flashing procedure. A Samsung drive would be particularly useful here, but would have to be spoofed to the make and model of the original drive (unless the original drive was the same). Errors in flashing might also be caused by "incompatible" SATA controllers on the computer used to flash. The E65 error is associated with an error code of 1001. To get an error code from an Xbox 360 console that is displaying an E65 error (or 3ROL) you simply press and hold the "sync up" button (used to connect wireless controllers) and then press the Eject button for the DVD drive. This will bring up the first digit of the error code (usually it is one light blinking red, wh
