E74 is red rings of death and although you do get these same red rings it is not that problem, when your xbox does not freeze it comes up with this: So console error E74 is where your xbox isn't getting the cooling it should from the fan and is overheating (in my words). E68 is a common error although people do mistake it for E74 and end up calling microsoft and asking for a repair because you have RRoD. This is not the case. E68 is an issue with your hard drive. Here's how to fix error E68 Turning on your console you've got the Red rings. (in this picture i had to get red rings by unplugging the av cables, as I've already fixed the problem) You may have thought that you had the E74 which you have to either send in your xbox to microsoft or fork out up to 100$ to get it repaired local. Although It's your hard drive at fault. Somewhere along the lines your hard drive has had an error, I don't know where but somewhere and somehow. So turn off your xbox. and remove your harddrive, If you don't know how to do this stop now before you break something. Turn your xbox 360 back on with the hard drive out Put your hard drive back in Connect to Xbox live and do any updates, if any. This should stop the E68 console error.
