recently started riding and i am very unafamiliar with an r6. Can anybody help me diagnose this problem and possibly solve it. 2016 r6 I am not sure where to start. Google has not helped me much. thanks Tarrantula sounds like the battery isnt charging... not hard to deduce that... alternator is toast? did you try a push start? Pollywog Originally posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkXjHduKbLk by Tarrantula sounds like the battery isnt charging... not hard to deduce that... alternator is toast? did you try a push start? :werd: - however there is no alternator on those bikes (or almost any) but rather a magneto/flywheel. My best guess is either a shot magneto, a fault in the connection between the magneto and rectifier, or issues with the rectifier itself. Other than that, there isn't much more to your charging system. EDIT: http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-310291.html Like Dexta said below, it could just as easily be a shit battery. Supa Dexta Any battery issues? Make sure it's connections are tight first of all. Pollywog Originally posted by Buffalo Soldier Google has not helped me much. Buffalo Soldier ^thanks bud japan_us Go buy a multi-meter. If you can get a hold of the service guide for your bike it should tell you what to test for. You're lucky - my rectifier decided to kill itself while I was on track, frying my battery. Lots of acid spillage. After doing some Googling, I found out that the OEM rectifier on my bike is junk, so I replaced it with a better one. Doing some wiring cleanup as well to make things more efficient. While you're looking into fixing things up, maybe look into upgrading as well. There's a lot of OEM junk that gets thrown onto bikes to keep costs down. cjblair Just for future reference OP, the first thing I do when I get a new bike is join the forum specific to that bike (i.e. zx-10r.net for my current bike). It helps for problems like yours, and its great for finding cheap common DIY mo

Category:Motorcycle Share this conversation Expert: yamsuzpolaris replied6 years ago. code 46 means that there is a power supply issue, and bike will not start. gotta check and make sure BATTERY IS GOOD! also got to make sure that all wiring is good. positive battery cable to starter solenoid. wire from starter solenoid that powers the bikes electrical 2006 yamaha r6 system. all main fuses good, including the one on the starter solenoid plus ignition system fuses in fuse box. also the ground wire from battery that usually bolts to a bolt on back of motor block. any of these loose, corroded, etc will give the problems you are experiencing. PS; just cause battery was replaced doesnt mean it was/is good or fully charged, so start there. let me know what you find as you progress on this. Mark Ask Your Own Motorcycle Question Customer: replied6 years ago. all wires good could it be the rectifier Expert: yamsuzpolaris replied6 years ago. you can unplug the rectifier if you wish, and the bike should start but wont charge the battery. its not the regulator. and hope you didnt reverse polarity on the battery when you put it in. you didnt reverse polarity, DID YOU? I took a trip to downtown Toronto on the bike yesterday and got caught in traffic on the way back... really bad traffic. I was riding along and my engine warning light came on, so I pulled onto a side street and turned off the bike and gave it a look over since it seemed to be runing fine and at a normal temperature.
