Bike was fine pulled up turned it off. Went back to start it and starter motor was spinning but not engaging the engine. bump started it and then rode about 3 miles and got fault code Fault Code 46 on the display. No fault showing in DIAGNOSTICS on the bike but does show 46 below the speedo. Error 46 - Vehicle system power supply (Monitor voltage) Power supply to the FI system relay is not normal startability = Unable, drivability = Able Tested battery at home and was @ 11.8v Took it off and charged it up was @ 12.8v but still same error and spinning starter motor but not turning over. Took off fuel tank looked at the wires but all appear to be mint! Clocks were going off when trying to start the bike!! I took a trip to downtown Toronto on the bike yesterday and got caught in traffic on the way back... really bad traffic. I was riding along and my engine warning light came on, so I pulled onto a side street and turned off the bike and gave it a look over since it seemed to be runing fine and at a normal temperature. I noticed that it gave me fault code 46... and then the bike would not turn over when I tried to start it. So I bump started it and kept driving to make it home. I managed to stall it on the way back and it once again woudn't fire up even though the fault light was off. I bump started it again and made sure to keep the rpms way up all the way home. By the time I got back the bike would start with the starter. A couple of notes: 1) I was riding with my high beams on, to be more visible. 2) I tend to keep the rpms as low as possible in town. Category:Motorcycle Share this conversation Expert: yamsuzpolaris replied6 years ago. code 46 means that there is a power supply issue, and bike will not start. gotta check and make sure BATTERY IS GOOD! also got to make sure that all wiring is good. positive battery cable to starter solenoid. wire from starter solenoid that powers the bikes electrical system. all main fuses good, including the one on the starter solenoid plus ignition system fuses in fuse box. also the ground wire from battery that usually bolts to a bolt on back of motor block. any of these loose, corroded, etc will give the problems you are experiencing. PS; just cause battery was replaced doesnt mean it was/is good or fully charged, so start there. let me know what you find as you progress on this.
