4d Error 4099
Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ 4D 2004 - Printer error 4099 Dear folks, Using Server 4D 2004 I'm getting error dialogs that popup over the server main window saying: "Error calling PrintDlg: 4099" The server gets freezed until I get to the server and dismiss the error dialog I'm not 100% sure but it seems to appear just when my code is calling the 4D methods "Get current printer" or "SET CURRENT PRINTER"... Any idea? Today I found that there has been a bug fix in 4D. (see ftp://ftp.4d.com/ACI_PRODUCT_REFERENCE_LIBRARY/Bug_Fix_Lists/Version_2004/4D _2004.8/Fixed_Bugs_4D_2004.8.pdf last Item.) It seems that this problem is solved with 4D 2004.8. Re: Error calling printdlg 4099 Newsgroups: gmane.comp.lang.inug-4d.tech Date: Saturday 18th February 2012 17:27:23 UTC (over 4 years ago) Hi Rudy, I saw this error a couple of years ago and I found out what http://4d.1045681.n5.nabble.com/4D-2004-Printer-error-4099-td1404498.html the reason was. This happens when you connect from outside to the machine where 4D is running Remote Desktop e.g. For this connection are various options available in RDT and one http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.inug-4d.tech/118085 of them is to make the printers available on the target machine which are available on my local network. When you switch this off the error is gone. Hope this helps. Some stuff prints OK and some returns this error. > > Windows 98, http://osdir.com/ml/lang.inug-4d.tech/2003-05/msg00355.html 40MB RAM > Application "memory" 4 Blocks of 10000 > 4D 6.5.8 engine I used to see this one a lot with DeskJet Printers. The only solution that I found to work consistently was to re-create the form (or 4D Write Doc) making sure that the printer in question was set as 4d error the default printer at the time you created the form. You could also try going into the form and re-setting Page Setup, making sure the correct printer was selected. ===================================== Randy Engle EngSoft Solutions XC2 - H2OBenchMark - EduTrax rengle-mND7wJMnoS5BDgjK7y7TUQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.engsoft.com 800.761.4999 - 415.258.9573 ===================================== ********************************************************************** 4th Dimension Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) 4d error 4099 FAQ: http://www.pdm-inc.com/iNUG/faq.htm Admin: mailto:iNUG-JHPjFzV04ylBDgjK7y7TUQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Unsub: mailto:4D_Tech-off-d2/MUvgItPORWtae5u2ADg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ********************************************************************** Thread at a glance: Previous Message by Date: RE: [OFF] ASP web development Fire away privately if you still need help.
