79.00fe Printer Error Hp 5100
HP 4050 or 8000 printer, including some PDFs that I created using Adobe Distiller 5.0 using the default "Print" job option (Acrobat 4.0(PDF 1.3) Compatibility), I have the 79.00 FE PRINTER ERROR. My systems support person says that this Compatibility thing is eqivalent to PostScript Level. And our HP 8000 and HP 4050 laser printers do 79.00fe printer error hp 5000 not support PostScript 3; they support only PostScript 2. Because I create the PDFs using 4.0 Compatibility (same as PostScript Level 4?), I am not going to be able to print them on these printers. However, they can be printed on HP 4100, which supports PostScript 3 (even though not Compatbility/PostScript 4). Now my Distiller 5.0 (presumably any higher version too) does not support anything lower than Compatibility 3.0 - it cannot create a PDF of Compatibility 2.1 for example. Now, is Adobe so stupid that it removes this PostScript 2 support from Distiller such that the PDFs it creates cannot be printed on certain printers? Any cure? Any comment? I read http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/errorcodes/h... but it does not really help. I powered down the printer and tried again several times and got the same results. I have a PDF manual on CD 79.00fe printer error hp laserjet 8000 and found the same suggestions given by moe in 2008. I removed and cleaned the fuser because it solved my error problems before but it didn't help this time. The manuel didn't give a specific http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/11377-2-remove-00fe-error-message description for this error code. One thing I forgot to mention. Since the last time I printed, Apple had a HP software update that I installed. Do you think it conflicts with an eleven year old printer? If so, I don't know how to get back to the former version. I do have one Time Machine backup from before this update but don't know how to go about changing only the HP software. http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/74525 Maybe apple can help me. Respond to this 0 First off I assume you have a network card. If so remove it with the power off and power on the printer and then go to the information menu and see if you can do internal prints. If you can there is the possibility the network card has an issue. It could be your software from the MAC. by dmzcompute on Oct 25, 2012 at 6:07pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Update:I tried to print from my Mac desktop instead of my Macbook Pro. I printed a HP read me on firmware. It printed all 16 pages and then the error happened. I was about to print a configuration page and then I heard the sound of a relay and the error displayed. So it doesn't seem to be a network communication problem but could still be. I will try your suggestion in the morning but I will go back to the manual to look again at the possible causes list. It might be a hardware problem. - Joe BigBand 0 Update 2:I didn't do a good job of documenting each test. I powered down and pulled the Jet Direct card. I printed a configuration page. I can't remember for s

Can you make sure they are firmly mounted? --------------------------------------... This is from HP website Turn the printer off. Remove all communication cables so that only the power cable is connected. Remove the Jetdirect card, if installed. Remove any other accessories, such as the envelope feeder. Hold down the green "GO" button. Turn the printer on. When the words "Cold Reset" appear in the display, release the green "GO" button. When "Offline" appears in the display, press the green "GO" button. "Ready" should appear in the display. NOTE: If the words "Cold Reset" do not appear in the display, hold the "GO" button down until you hear the motors rotate. The words "Restoring Factory Settings" will appear in the display if the "Cold Reset" was performed successfully. Turn the printer off once the printer displays the “Ready” message. Reinstall each of the above-mentioned components, one at a time, turning the printer on and off again each time a component is installed. Continue installing and power-cycling until all accessories are installed and the printer is at a “Ready” state.
