Method 1 Open IE, go to Tools, Internet Options or click on the Settings gear icon at the top right and then clear out the temporary Internet files. Under Browsing History, click the Delete button and then check Temporary Internet files and website files. In case you downloaded an executable file that is causing the problem, this will remove it. Method 2 In some versions of IE, script debugging can be the cause for this issue. You can try disabling script debugging by going to Internet Options again, clicking on the Advanced tab and then checking the Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable Script Debugging (Other) boxes. Method 3 Run anti-spyware and anti-virus software on the computer. Download MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and Spybot and run each to remove any malware. Remove unwanted entries that you see when you run HiJackThis (you'll have to read the docs to know what to remove). Method 4 Go to Start, Run and then type in MSCONFIG. on Windows XP/Home. IE worked fine before, but since a few weeks it won't open, giving the "Send / Don't Send" error-screen. I un-installed IE6 through Add/remove programs in Ctl Panel, then ran ie6setup.exe, then downloaded IE6-SP1, installed it but same thing: still the Send/Don't Send screen. Can anybody help me to solve this problem? Thanks in advance Eric Liong Eric Liong, Feb 12, 2004 #1 Advertisements Ramesh [MVP] Guest Hi Eric, When you click the Internet Explorer icon, window may flash a second and quits. Or, it may show an Error-Reporting dialog. This may be due to a malware Browser Helper Object which causes Internet Explorer process to terminate. If you see the Error-Reporting dialog, click "to see what data this report contains" and identify the Module Name causing this error. In most cases, it may be the spyware DLL. Therefore, reinstalling Internet Explorer [in case of a spyware DLL] may not help. To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer 1. Click Start, Run, and type inetcpl.cpl. [or control inetcpl.cpl] 2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box. 4. Restart Internet Explorer. If this helps, read here for further troubleshooting: Cannot open Internet Explorer: http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm Sample Error-Report dialogs: http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/images/EReport1.JPG http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/images/EReport2.JPG -- Understanding and Troubleshooting Unrecoverable Errors (Faults) in Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393 -- Ramesh - Microsoft MVP http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k ----------------------------------------- MyDoom (A,B) and DoomJuice.A Worm Removal Tool: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e4-3d50-464d-a26c-9c287f8a08c5&DisplayLang=en ----------------------------------------- "Eric Liong" <> wrote in message news:...
