2006 Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Error: communicating with OLE server or close the ole server and restart it outside of microsoft access ActiveX Control I just installed Office 2007 and I get this error whenever I start MS Access 2007. "A problem occured while Microsoft Office Access was ole server or activex control access 2010 communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control" What could it be? I don't have any antivirus appz or such that could interfere, and my Windows XP+SP2 is updated daily. S.F. It happens even if I don't open a specific MDB, so it must be something in the program. S.F. I'm having the same issue with Access 2003. After rebooting, I started receiving the following message when I open my Access program or any Access database. "A problem occurred while Microsoft Office Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control". I rebooted due to a prompt for our network manager for system updates. At first I thought my issues were due to a possible windows update patch or something. But I seem to be the only one having this issue. I did not have any issues with Access before the rebooted. Since the error occured I've: *Rebooted several times *Repaired my Office package *Uninstalled, reinstalled Access 2003 But, I still get the same error message. ktwoodward View Public Profile Find More Posts by ktwoodward 05-02-2010, 06:16 PM #5 pkstormy Newly Registered User Join Date: Feb

I am not running Norton Antivirus, which some posts say might be the problem. Someone suggested perhaps a graphics program may have been uninstalled incorrectly, but I don't recall removing any software. windows-7 microsoft-access share|improve this question asked Mar 24 at 15:06 Katie M 1061 add a comment| active oldest votes You must log in to answer this question. There is a functionality in which by clicking on the ID number in the Contact List, it should call up the form to edit the details. I have made no changes to this code, and have even tried recopying it from the template from scratch. However I am getting the error "A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control." It is telling me to restart the OLE server and try the operation again. I have an old version of the database saved, and it runs fine over there. It just is something within my code here. Any guidance would be appreciated. vba ms-access access-vba ole share|improve this question asked Jul 9 '15 at 20:11 trc46 11 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I have ran into this error three times in my database. Each time to fix it I simply just open a new blank project and import everything from your old project into your new project. This might sound like a large undertaking basically you just go into the new project and select "Import Access Database". Then just run through the wizard selecting everything in your current database. Click okay and let it run for a few minutes. This has fixed it for me every time I have run into your error. I suspect it is just something to do with corruption. share|improve this answer answered Jul 10 '15 at 12:15 Newd 2,0061928 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
