Error Aspruntime Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object
Oct 16, 2008 10:33 AM|Ron_L|LINK Hi, i'm new to web deployment projects. I have one working to deploy my webapp to a server, and it works fine. When I try to change the outputPath to another access to the path is denied c# server, it does not work. I get error: ASPNETCOMPILER : error ASPRUNTIME: Access to the path '\\stage\E$\www\ttw\bin\pcs.master.cdcab7d2.compiled' is denied. The command exited with code 1. I've cleared out the folder where it's deploying to, and there are no files in this location. The iis setups are mostly the same on both servers. I've read the deployment project article, so I'm thinking of trying to tell it to skip this file c# unauthorizedaccessexception access to the path is denied before the build, using MSBuild, but I'm not sure that will help. The only thing I can find different on these servers is on the Properties>Web Sharing tab, on one it is shared under a certain iis site, but on the one I'm having a problem it's not. It's killing me bcz I think this has worked in the past, but now I don't know what hte deal is with this file. It was using a master file before, but now I don't even need it, so how can I stop VS from even trying to deploy this? Thanks. If not, go into IIS and switch it to 2.0. –Michael Haren Dec 24 '08 at 16:45 I get this in my IDE before ever deploying anything... :( –Scott Dec 5 '12 at 15:05 add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 12 down vote This sounds like a permissions problem. Make sure that the ASPNET account has full access to the Temporary ASP.NET Files folder. If your problems persist, you could also try running The 'aspnet_regiis -i' command to re-install the framework, which should also reset file permissions. Failing that, you could try using Process Monitor and filtering to the aspnet_wp.exe process to check what the process is trying to do, and update file permissions accordingly. sh

We have asked the hosting company and they reported that the full http://asp.net.bigresource.com/c-How-to-prevent-System-IO-Directory-Delete-pathtodelete-true-from-giving-me-a-Directory-is-not-empty-error-2ZK7c7wty.html permission has granted to IISUSRS and NETWORKSERVICE. However, this error still keep occurring especially we have content update. May I know any solution of it or what's next I can check? Thank you so much! We have also asked hosting company to do same action, however, they replied that they fail to delete the path is denied file since error prompted and said the file is in used by others. Before this also check file is not read only. Copy Link Jamie 6 posts 26 karma points Apr 12, 2016 @ 11:46 0 Hi Jinesh, Thanks for your advise. We have also asked hosting company to do such action but they claimed the file cannot be deleted even the site is stopped. Do you know any possible reason to cause such issue? By the way, knew that the above solution is the quick way to solve this problem, but is there any solution to fix this error permanently say any configuration, setting we can make? Thanks again for your help! Copy Link Jinesh Kaneriya 21 posts 153 karma points Apr 12, 2016 @ 12:10 0 HI, Stop IIS and then try to delete file and again start iis. Or use unlocker software to delete file forcefully and restart site. Don't forget to take files backup for safety.
