Its wierd before reinstalling vb6 i tried this actually but didnt work but now works just fine. I guess i didnt follow the steps carefully. Post it as an answer.. xD also CreateObject("WIA.ImageFile") is really usefull too. I must admit this was a quick problem solving i dont really ask everything here.. ADO does not have an ImageFile type. I think what you want is the Windows Image Acquisition Automation Library After installing you can update your references
