I have an RMS 2.0 install that has been on the computer for a long while, but POS was never activated on it. We have since purchased another lane and want to add the POS license. However, when I put in the license I get: "Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object" Followed by: "Automation error" Followed by: "Run-time error
Re-Installing Dynamics RMS -Go to add/remove software in the control panel, find Microsoft Dynamics RMS in the list and select it, runtime error 429 activex component can't create object click the 'click here for support information', then click the repair button. Have source CD handy. 2. Registering MSXML3.DLL Try running regsv32 MSXML3.DLL, to fix running windows update. Fixed MS RMS error also. 3. System Restore Essentially all you need was run a System Restore to a date prior to when the ActiveX message started showing up. That fixed the https://community.dynamics.com/rms/f/106/t/106413 problem and you can now open all the modules on that work station. Very simple fix. 4. The installation went fine but setting up of database has turned out to be a nightmare. In "Store Operations Manager" when i try to create the database, as per instructions inthe installation manual, using the backup file (rmssample.bck) thatis provided, it fails to go through the operation and gives an operating system error 5. activex component Upon googling it turned out that .bck files are backup files created onOpenVMS systems. Now it don't know how to go around this problem and microsoft's support site seems to be not so supportive. Hasanyone else faced the same situation or is there a work around to it. Any help is much appreciated. /Irfan Sponsored Links Amrita Members Profile Find Members Posts MicrosoftDynamicsForums.com Member Joined: March202009 Location: India Status: Offline Points: activex component can't 39 Post Options Post Reply QuoteAmrita Report Post Thanks(0) QuoteReply Posted: November102009 at 10:48pm Can't you restore the backup file in SQL db and then add the details in Store Operations Admin configuration link. You can connect the Manger from that. auspiciousme Members Profile Find Members Posts MicrosoftDynamicsForums.com Member Joined: November102009 Status: Offline Points: 2 Post Options Post Reply Quoteauspiciousme Report Post Thanks(0) QuoteReply Posted: November112009 at 1:57am Arrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhh. So I pulled the setup program from one of my other pc that runs the program fine and started installing it. I finished installing it, but it warned me that there are some files missing. So I got the entire RMS folder and transferred it to my new PC. Now when I try to run the program it gives me an error message saying: " Runtime Error: 429: ActiveX component can't create object". W
