Airport Utility indicated there was a firmware update. (Wasn't running Airport Utility... it auto notified.) Downloaded and attempted installation. Feb. 13, 2013 item.169974 Pete Van der Goore Got a failure updating my Airport Extreme, too. Did the update using my iPhone. Got the error at the end. Airport now reports the update firmware and is working fine. Probably has something to do an error occurred with losing connection to the Airport when it reboots. Subsequent runs of Airport Utility report no firmware update required, and indicate a current version. Comment on this posting... item.169963 J Ake I had the same error with the update on one but not all AE units in our house. It was the last iteration of the old form factor Airport Express. The other one is brand new and did fine. A newer Airport Extreme also updated cleanly. So I wondered if it was an age thing. I've also had occasional update issues with other things through the Apple App store and iTunes, but they've never appeared to produce functional issues. The error message appears, but the update takes place and things function smoothly afterwards. So I wonder if these error messages might have more to do with an Apple authorization server or a post-update check that doesn't complete, rather than anything directly having to do with the update itself.
