Outlook Asking For Password And Not Accepting
Express Logon Problem Discussion in 'Web & Email' started by rfcjr, type your username and password outlook 2007 May 20, 2005. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement rfcjr Thread Starter Joined: May 20, 2001 outlook exchange password iphone Messages: 139 Hello: A problem with the Outlook Express logon screen just started. Everytime I bring up Outlook Express the logon screen pops up asking for my username https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/236032 and password. The default is visible; but, even when I re-enter the correct entries the screen simply reappears. It will not take the information. The detailed error message is below: "There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.pacbell.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.pacbell.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): https://forums.techguy.org/threads/outlook-express-logon-problem.364068/ No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92" I can use other mail programs with no problem; so, the information is correct. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. rfcjr, May 20, 2005 #1 Sponsor JonathanAnon Banned Joined: Dec 17, 2004 Messages: 531 It seems like your password has been chaged or else you have that Outlook bug where it keeps prompting you for your password. If Microsoft Outlook is installed on the host, its log file may be necessary for troubleshooting. How to enable MS Outlook log file generation MS Outlook 2010 Go to File > Options. Click Advanced in the left frame. In the right frame, check the Enable troubleshooting logging option in the Other section. Click OK. Restart MS Outlook. MS Outlook 2007 and older Expand Tools > click Options. Open the Other tab. Click Advanced Options. Activate the Enable logging (troubleshooting) option. Click OK twice. Restart MS Outlook. Once you have this option enabled, the application troubleshooting log starts registering all information about interaction between MS Outlook 2003 / 2007 / 2010 and a mail server each time a message is sent/received. Important notice: once you are over with troubleshooting, disable the logging. Otherwise the log file will keep growing, and that can potentially lead to a lack of empty hard disk space. Log file location For POP3, SMTP, MAPI protocols %temp%\Outlook Logging\Opmlog.log For IMAP protocol %temp%\Outlook Logging\IMAP-usernamedomainname-date-time.log Sometimes the data can be registered in the log only after closing MS Outlook.
