[SOLVED] Outlook Express incorrect password error Discussion in 'Web & Email' started by Honey63, May 4, 2003. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-outlook-express-incorrect-password-error.131931/ Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement Honey63 Thread Starter Joined: Jun 18, 2002 Messages: 197 I'm having major problems accessing email through Outlook Express. To cut a long story short, hubby (US Army) deployed to Germany in February. I bought a new computer about a month ago (my old hard drive was ready to die) and I've been setting it up slowly this week. I'm trying to set up 2 email asking for accounts in OE6 ... 1 for me, 1 for my daughter. Both are associated with my website and have the same settings. I have added the new accounts with the correct settings, however, I keep getting this error message ... "There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'Test', Server: 'mail.honeyshome.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Bad login', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: asking for password 0x800CCC92" Recently there were server changes with my web host, prior to these changes I didn't have a problem. Because I was offline during our move, I didn't have my pc working so couldn't use OE (military libraries don't permit it) so I have no idea when it stopped working. I've been in constant contact with my web hosting company and they've been great, but we still can't work out why I can't access them through OE. They even set up a test account to see if it would work, and it won't. This leads me to believe it could be something to do with OE. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, do they know how I can rectify this please? On the suggestion of my host, I've removed my firewall but this hasn't worked. The new account I know for a fact has the correct password typed in and the correct settings. I can't seem to find anything on the net to answer the question of what on earth's going on here! I'd be grateful for any help anyone can give me, and I apologise for the lengthy post!!
