Jun 22, 2009 08:57 AM|wisemonkey|LINK This is the weird thing though. I have two asp.net applications running on this server no problem at all. I have set those up some 6 months ago. I can also setup a simple html site.But when i try to setup a new asp.net site i get this error. In fact even if i copy the files from one of the working apps and set it up as a new web site in IIS it does not work. It Gives me this error.I am running Server 2003. Also i have recently installed .NET 3.5 framework. I am not sure if this could be the reason. Make sure this site has ASP.NET enabled as a web service extension. Check with a Hello Wortld app. Look at your error logs. Jeff Have you Binged a solution before posting? Checked for asp.net in web extention folder in IIS, it is enabled. Where can i find IIS error logs? I had a look in the event viewer, but can't see any error in there. Then select the website you created Under the Web Site. Right-Click on the created website asp.net error 403.1 and select Properties. It will show the properties of website like below image :- HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied Set the properties like marked in the above images and try to browse website again. There are 12 sites split into 5 groups. The pages are all asp pages (most are linked to an Access 2000 database but I don't think this is relevant). I test the sites on my laptop using the Dreamweaver (v8) test server option and pressing F12 (Preview in browser). Some of the sites in some groups will run fine whereas others return a 403.1 error. "HTTP 403.1 Forbidden: Execute Access Forbidden You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed" I cannot see any difference in the security settings betweeen those folders/sites that work and those that do not. I have even gone so far as to give "Everyone" full permissions on both the group ,domain and htdocs folders. (Htdocs is the root folder for Fasthosts purposes and it inherits its permisions from the domain folder anyway) I have also eliminated the possibility that the asp pages themselves are at fault by testing them on the working local "sites" and successfully running them there.
