a specific set of drawings (not all drawings). When I click OK, I am kicked complete out of AutoCAD and/or the VBA IDE. Title: AutoCAD Error-abort Msg: Error handler re-entered. Exiting now. My code is only trying to get autocad error aborting fatal error unhandled access violation reading a layer or create it if it does not exist. Something like: On Error Resume Next autocad error aborting fatal error unhandled e0434f4dh Dim objLayer As AcadLayer Set objLayer = ThisDrawing.Layers(strLayer) If ObjLayer Is Nothing then Set objLayer = ThisDrawing.Layers.Add(strLayer) End if As I mentioned, this autocad unhandled access violation problem is only happening with a certain crop of drawings that are nearly identical, so I would guess that something is probably just wacky with them (I have recovered & audited). Otherwise this utility works great. However, the brutality of http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-land-desktop/quot-autocad-error-abort-error-handler-re-entered-exiting-now/td-p/3151216 the error and inability I have to track it down using regular debugging methods makes me curious as to what may be the exact cause. Has anyone else out there seen this before? Curious, Mark Sanchez spanqy, Sep 14, 2004 #1 Advertisements James Belshan Guest Mark, You can use a single line to do this... > Set objLayer = ThisDrawing.Layers.Add(strLayer) If the layer already exists, it will be returned to objLayer. If it doesn't, it will be created. http://www.thecadforums.com/threads/error-error-handler-re-entered-exiting-now.67861/ James James Belshan, Sep 14, 2004 #2 Advertisements Show Ignored Content Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question? The PC died on me at the office, so there was a bit of a migration exercise between the harddisk of the dead PC and another (probably about to die) PC. Anyway, I had to reinstall LT2005 but on startup an "Error handler reentered" error message pops up and ACAD closes down. I can't autocad error aborting figure it out. I checked the Autodesk knowledge base and it seemed to suggest that it's an issue with insufficient RAM, but there's 1GB on the system and about 50GB free disk, so surely not. Anyone help? ...funny how I didn't see that one coming... Done a few things to try to resolve, but to no avail - complete reinstall, cleaning registry before reinstalling, disabling background applications before reinstalling.. The Autodesk discussion group doesn't seem to offer any help either. In fact one guy posted a similar question back in 2004 and it's never got a reply (http://discussion.autodesk.com/threa...sageID=4039723). Am I doomed to suffer the same fate? ...funny how I didn't see that one coming... thedialog and than plots through autocads plot command. I take the info andenter it at the plot command line where gathered info is needed. This works great except some drawings will give me an error message"Error Handler Re-entered Exiting Now" This will than dump me out ofautocad. This continues to happen with this drawing. If I plot oncethrougth the standard autocad dialog it will plot. Than when I plot withmy customized plot routine it will work fine. Almost like Autocad's plottoggles something. Any ideas?thanks,jamie--Jamie RichardsonInformation Systems CoordinatorSaint Paul/Minneapolis, MN Jamie Richardson 2003-08-04 16:47:33 UTC PermalinkRaw Message I don't currently have an error handler section im my lisp. My lispskills are slowly learning and my code might not be the most efficientway to do things. That is problem why I am having the problem. I wouldbe glad to let you look at my files. Is there a spot that I could postmy files for your access in a less public location.Without access to the LISP code behind the DCL, it's hard to guess at aproblem, let alone a solution.Post at least the error handler sections of the LISP at the Customizationdiscussion area found at http://discussion.autodesk.com Under AutoCAD.--Dean SaadallahAdd-on products for LThttp://www.pendean.com/lt----Jamie RichardsonInformation Systems CoordinatorSaint Paul/Minneapolis, MN Dean Saadallah 2003-08-04 17:02:58 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Mmm, no, I am only suggesting you post in a more appropriate discussion areafor assistance.
