Thanks in advance. asp.net http iis-7 webserver http-status-code-400 share|improve this question edited Jul 8 '13 at 11:37 asked Jul 8 '13 at 11:06 Ram Singh 3,2811965121 "one website has issue of HTTP 400 bad request" - HTTP errors are a symptom, not a cause. HTTP 400 is thrown is various situations, you will have to find out which one applies. Look in IIS's logs, enable tracing and check the configuration according to the framework you're using (does it have requirements regarding the app pool, the installed .NET framework and so on?). –CodeCaster Jul 8 '13 at 11:20 @CodeCaster i have already tried to get the erro in logs but its not create a single log file in log folder. –Ram Singh Jul 8 '13 at 11:38 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? UPDATE (added more information) It's an ASP.NET / MVC 4.0 website. All datetime fields in the model are declared as string (for other reasons), so I don't think it's model validation. This behavior only occurs in one of the servers, all other machines (developer and servers) are ok. UPDATE 2 (added more information) It's seems to be a proxy related issue. When accessing the site locally, it works. When accessing it from another computer, returns bad request. UPDATE 3 (add more information) Ruled out the "proxy hypothesis". I enabled request tracing in IIS, this was logged: ModuleName: ManagedPipelineHandler Notification: 128 HttpStatus: 400 HttpReason: Bad Request HttpSubStatus: 0 ErrorCode: 0 Notification: EXECUTE_REQUEST_HANDLER ErrorCode: A operação foi concluída com êxito. (0x0) I have two posts: btnProcessarAutuacao=Processar&IdAutuacao=5000038&DataLimiteIdentificacaoCondutor=31%2F12%2F2013+00%3A00%3A00&DscMensagemErro=Numero+do+auto+de+Infra%C3%A7%C3%A3o+A151515+para+o+Orgao+autuador+100107+j%C3%A1+foi+digitaliz

Outline: Symptoms Causes and Solutions Extra information Footnotes Symptoms Internet Explorer may report this as “The webpage cannot be found” Microsoft Windows Update reports HTTP 400 errors with error code 0x80244016 (hexadecimal 80244016). Apache web servers report this as: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Microsoft IIS web servers provide extended error codes 400.1 to 400.9. For details, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 943891: “The HTTP status codes in IIS 7.0” Google servers may report HTTP 400 errors in several ways, e.g.: By accessing http://www.google.com/reader/view/null: Google Error Client Error There was an error in your request. By accessing http://www.google.com/history/feeds/default/subscriptions/browser (when you haven't subscribed to Google's browser history feature): Google Error Bad Request Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request. Image from http://www.flickr.com/photos/apelad/ Causes and Solutions The official description of what causes HTTP 400 errors is very broad: “The request could not be understood by the server due to malformed syntax.&rdquo In turn, that can have several causes: Bad server name When the server indicates “Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)”: The website name may lead to a web hosting server that no longer serves the web site with that name. If there are multiple sites listed in the “Other Website On” section at the bottom of http://www.websiteoutlook.com, then the server is probably part of a web hosting site. This can happen when the owner of a web site ends an agreement with a web hosting service, but has not updated information about their site from the Domain Name System (DNS).
