Bell TV (satellite) error codes that our ICT North technicians hear about are: Error Code 001 Means: There is a problem with a multi-dish switch Solution: Run a http://ictnorth.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-tackle-3-common-bell-tv-error.html Check Switch How: Press Menu, 6,1,1 Select Check Switch. If this does not clear the problem ensure there are no loose cables, run it again. Error Code 002 Means: Bell TV satellite signal lost Solution: http://alt.dbs.canada.narkive.com/tlihIjFY/expressvu-problems Wait for the bad weather to end. Remove snow or ice build up off the satellite dish. If the weather is clear, check for loose cables then Run a Check Switch. Error Code 005 Means: Loose cable, satellite bell satellite dish has moved or is obscured, satellite receiver not connected, satellite receiver not yet authorized, Solutions: 1. Check cable connections are not loose or dry and that there are no breaks in the cable. Tighten connections and or replace the cabling. Via the remote press Menu 6,1,1 the bottom bar on this screen shows signal strength, the longer the green bar the better the signal strength. The word Locked should also appear under the bell satellite tv bar to indicated that the satellite has been successfully located. Run a Check Switch. 2. Make sure dish is secure and has a clear line of sight to the Bell TV satellite. Via the remote press Menu 6,1,1 if the bottom bar on the Point Dish screen is red Call a Bell representative to request a service call so the dish can be re aimed and secured. Remove the obstruction (tree growth etc) 3. Ensure the satellite receiver is connected correctly and has been authorized. Sometimes is can be as simple as making sure that connections to the receiver are not loose, that the correct output has been selected on your tv model and that the power cord is plugged in. If you have requested authorization is can take a while, authorization is complete when the on screen message is removed. If these errors do not resolve Call 1-888-759-3473 (1-888-SKY-DISH) to speak to a call centre representative. image credit bell.ca Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: bell tv, error codes, satellite tv, signal lost at 10:03 AM No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) ICT North blog ICT North, Barrie Get latest Posts Posts Atom Posts Comments Atom Comments Follow by Email Google+
many members of thisgroup who helped me figure everything out back when I first gotstarted. So, first a bit of background...I have one receiver (2700), and a 24inch dish, and my signal strength is 91%. There are no problems withany of the coax connections, dish being dirty, or anything like that(I've checked them all.) But a few days ago I started getting thefollowing message on over 80% of the channels:ERROR 002Your satellite signal is temporarily unavailable. Please wait, orpress the Up or Down button to change channels:Channel: (number of whatever channel I was trying to watch)Satellite: 91Transponder: (varies depending on the channel I was trying to watch)There is a Help button at the bottom of the screen, but when I selectit, it brings up a message that says the satellite lock was lost, andto check my coax connections and cleanliness of the dish, or there mayhave been storms in the area. (Storms in southern California in thesummer? Not really a problem! :-) )When I go to the Point Dish menu on the Installation menu, it says thereceiver is locked on Bell ExpressVu 91, with the signal strengthbeing anywhere from 86% (if it's foggy) to 91% (if skies are clear). There are some channels that I can watch just like before (like BBCWorld), so I know it's not that I'm getting no signal. (6 months agoI did have a problem with one of the coax connections, but then thesignal strength was 0%...once I found the problem and fixed theconnector, it was back to 91% again. So I know this time it is adifferent problem.)I called BEV Customer Service on Tuesday, and the woman went throughall of the usual "check your coax connections" answers that I hadalready found on the Web. She had me read that entire Error 002screen to her, as well as the entire "Important System Information"screen. She said all of the information was correct, and my accountwas all up to date, and she didn't know what the problem was, so shewould have someone e-mail me back. I haven't yet heard anything. Some additional points:* My receiver has never been plugged into a phone line. I was onceasked (3 years ago when I called customer service to changeprogramming packages) if it were plugged in, but other than that it'snever been mentioned -- and I have contacted customer service severaltimes since then to change programming packages or change the billingcredit card for my account.* Since the day I opened the account in October 2000, I have hadpre-authorized credit card billing. I signed up for servic
