have a little problem: I am not able to put an image in my document. I get an error when I insert a picture from a pdf file. Somebody suggested to compile pdfLatex instead of Latex, but on TexShop I do not see how to do it. I also tried to fix a bounding box on LaTeX, as in the following: \includegraphics[width=1\columnwidth][bb=0 0 100 100]{nameFileFigure} but it does not work. Dec 9 '13 at 2:53 At the top of the TeXShop Window, there are several dropdown menus. One of them (the second from the left) states “LaTeX” and can be changed to “pdflatexmk”. That's what you want to try, if you include a pdf. You could also change your PDF

This is usually no problem for me. I use pdfLaTeX in TeXworks. latex no bounding The only difference this time seems to be that I'm using the style files from the journal Statistical Science (http://www.e-publications.org/ims/support/sts-instructions.html). I've tried several solutions. This one and converting the pdf to .eps or .ps all make the error go away, but then there is just a big blank space where the image is supposed to be. Any ideas?
