Latex Figure Show Bounding Box
asked Sep 17 '13 at 19:07 Vishal Upadhyay 41112 Welcome to TeX.SE! What is the filename extension of your graphics file? Is it .eps, or something else? Please advise. –Mico Sep 17 '13 at 19:20 2 does you figure have a bounding box (a line like %%BoundingBox: 1 2 3 4) It should have if it is a valid EPS file. –David Carlisle Sep 17 '13 at 19:24 As @David Carlisle is saying; try opening your figure.eps in a text_editor and search for the word: BoundingBox. If it is not there, then something is wrong. What is the source of your figure? –Hans-Peter E. Kristiansen Sep 17 '13 at 19:29 in some .eps files, the bounding box information is at the end, rather than at the beginning where it really belongs. (and latex won't find it at the end.) with more specific information, someone here can give instructions on how to repair it. –barbara beeton Sep 17 '13 at 20:11 1 @DavidCarlisle -- we've had problems here in production with the bounding box at the end; maybe it's dvips that can't find it properly, but in any case, we always have to make repairs. so i made an assumption ... –barbara beeton Sep 17 '

I get an error when I insert a picture from a pdf file. I get the error that bounding box cannot be determined. I looked at other answers. Somebody suggested to compile pdfLatex instead of Latex, but on TexShop I latex no bounding do not see how to do it. I also tried to fix a bounding box on LaTeX, as in the following: \includegraphics[width=1\columnwidth][bb=0 0 100 100]{nameFileFigure} but it does not work. Dec 9 '13 at 2:53 At the top of the TeXShop Window, there are several dropdown menus. One of them (the second from the left) states “LaTeX” and can be changed to “pdflatexmk”. That's what you want to try, if you include a pdf. You could also change your PDF into an eps, if you really want to work with LaTeX further on. –Ronny Dec 9 '13 at 5:10 The syntax for includegraphics has only one optional argument, different options should be separ

LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in tree.jpg (no BoundingBox). Why do I get this error ? What has this to do with an .eps file ? In fact, I could compile it fine with MacTex on my machine. But when I submit it online to a scientific journal for publication, it compiles it on the server and sends me the resultant PDF which has all these errors that prevent it from compiling. I am using the following syntax for including the images : \begin{figure}[!h] \begin{center} \scalebox{0.45}{ \includegraphics{tree.jpg}} \end{center} \caption{\small A sample} \label{tree} \end{figure} What should I do ? Could it be that their server is using an old compiler ? UPDATE : It finally worked. I converted the first image to PDF and the compilation happened perfectly. I guess it used the bounding box value from that PDF and applied it to all images. pdf latex eps share|improve this question edited May 3 '12 at 13:05 Mr Lister 25.1k85381 asked Apr 8 '09 at 21:29 euphoria83 5,596164862 closed as off-topic by Dave Jarvis, joran, Fraser, torazaburo, sandrstar Aug 13 '13 at 3:25 This question does not appear to be abo
