the website still works live, so don't want to mess up the cache. if this is the problem, is very risky to remove (or switch off) the cache and lose the site forever. At least it is still working. Previously: I had a white dashboard, only the left side menu showing for plugins, WP functions showed a white screen. I fixed this cannot redeclare class laravel by a one line edit to screen.php (and was working fine). I have tried it now with original and edited screen.php version, same fatal error. I have tried replacing http.php with an older one (4.4) this has made no difference. Tips welcome! I am OK with a bit of coding. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). - If you can't get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old. - switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). Moderator Kathryn @zoonini Automattic Happiness Engineer 2 months, 2 weeks ago Could you please confirm that you're running the latest version of Edin released in May, 1.2.6? I just tested https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-cannot-redeclare-class-14/ this version and got no errors on my test site. If you're running an older version, please remove it via FTP and reinstall the latest version. Let me know how it goes. Moderator Kathryn @zoonini Automattic Happiness Engineer 2 months, 2 weeks ago Are you by any chance running the Goran child theme, for which Edin is the parent? If so, could you please remove the Goran folder and replace it with the latest version, 1.2.5. Version 1.2.4 of Goran did have an error in it, so perhaps this is the cause? andrew17 @andrew17 2 months, 2 weeks ago You're right, I was running the Goran child theme, sorry I didn't mention it before, I was a little confused. I uploaded the latest version of it and everything seems to be good now. Thanks so much Kathryn, you're a lifesaver! Moderator Kathryn @zoonini Automattic Happiness Engineer 2 months, 2 weeks ago That's great to hear, I'm glad it's sorted, and apologies for the snafu! Viewing 5 replies - 1 t

I don't think the questioner would have asked the question if (s)he had written an obvious repetition like this (even in quite a complex situation). The include_once tip helps to clarify an obscure feature of PHP. –DavidHyogo Mar 20 '13 at 2:12 2 This error might also occur if you define the __construct method more than once. –Jack Trowbridge Sep 1 '13 at 21:27 1 AaronLS's answer is perfect.. –Krunal Panchal Feb 19 '14 at 4:13 3 Just use include_once('FooBar.php') to include your class.
