Centos Error Downloading Treeinfo File
Version6.0Target VersionFixed in VersionSummary0004978: Install fails when Updates repository is added to install.DescriptionWhen running an install with an updates repository included the install fails usually during the MAKEDEV package installation. The install UI reports: "A fatal error has occurred when reading the installation media. Installation cannot continue. [Exit Installer]"Steps To ReproduceAdditional InformationThis occurs when doing an NFS install of Centos 6 where the Updates repository is either on NFS or HTTP. If I remove the updates repository from the install it works as expected. If I add in the EPEL repository it also works as expected. You can add an updates repository either via the GUI or via kickstart and receive the same error. An example of the kickstart option to enable the updates repo is: repo --name=centos6-x86_64-updates-remote --baseurl=http://centos.mirrors.tds.net/pub/linux/centos/6/updates/x86_64/ [^] The only thinks I can find in the various anaconda logs are that just about every package reports an warning / error with their install scripts. And for MAKEDEV it's critical and stops the install. ... Installing iptables-1.4.7-3.el6.x86_64 warning: %post(iptables-1.4.7-3.el6.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127 Installing xz-4.999.9-0.3.beta.20091007git.el6.x86_64 Installing less-436-4.el6.x86_64 Installing xz-lzma-compat-4.999.9-0.3.beta.20091007git.el6.x86_64 Installing yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-14.1.el6.x86_64 Installing bc-1.06.95-1.el6.x86_64 warning: %post(bc-1.06.95-1.el6.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127 Installing dbus-python-0.83.0-6.1.el6.x86_64 Installing MAKEDEV-3.24-6.el6.x86_64 error: %pre(MAKEDEV-3.24-6.el6.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127 These errors are not in the log at all if the updates repo is not included in the installation. The other thing, and I think this is a 'normal' error is that anaconda is looking for .treeinfo on the os, updates, and epel repositories and finding it on none of them. 13:18:56,456 DEBUG : reposetup is a direct step 13:18:56,466 DEBUG : isys.py:mount()- going to mount nfs:/vol/distributions/linux/centos/6/os/x86_64/ on /mnt/source as nfs with options defaults 13:18:59,647 ERROR : Error downloading
