Quote Postby vvvvv » 2011/07/26 11:14:48 Hi,I made a clean reinstall from CentOS5.5_32 to CentOS6.0_64. I'm installing from external usb dvd drive. My current partitioning:sda:- sda1 -> 1GB md0 RAID1- sda2 -> 499GB md1 RAID1sdb:- sdb1 -> 1GB md0 RAID1- sdb2 -> 499GB md1 RAID1RAID devices:- md0 -> 1GB ext4 (/boot)- md1 -> 499GB VolGroup00 LVMLVM: - LogVol01 -> 495GB ext4 (/)- LogVol00 -> 4GB (swap)I used this setup for more than two years with CentOS5.5. Now I just switched from ext3 to ext4 and switched on encryption for logvol / and swap, not /boot. Also the installer is told to place the boot loader on /dev/md0. But loader password is not used.I do only the minimal install but when the installer is rebooting it exits with something like "waiting for mdraid to become clean" "mdadm exited with error status 127". And after reboot grub2 freezes at loading stage2. Is it doing some fsck and should I wait or what?I've found two similar topics but no solution.http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread. ... tstart=240http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... -a-855713/Thx for any help. Maybe related to where grub was installed, maybe because some drives temp names at install and then switch to final ones which breaks mdadm at shutdown. Long ago had a software raid in fedora and had another issue which might be related, but another error, and each shutdown. Dont remember much. My 2c.
