a way to make Firefox ignore invalid ssl-certificates? up vote 29 down vote favorite 6 I am maintaining a few web applications. The development and qa environments use invalid/outdated ssl-certificates. Although it is generally a good thing, that Firefox makes me click like a dozen times to accept the certificate, this is pretty annoying. Is there a configuration-parameter to make Firefox (and possibly IE

I am totally aware, that the accepted solution leaves me with a gaping security hole. Nonetheless I am to lazy to change the certificate for all the applications and all the environments... But I also advice anybody strongly to leave validation enabled! firefox ssl share|improve this question edited Nov 2 '11 at 11:01 asked Aug 21 '08 at 14:31 Mo. 8,578103753 I will point out that this question applies to web servers that have valid certificates for their domains, but can only (at some given time) be reached via IP address. But sometimes it's not possible to add an exception. The button is there, but the popup window says that the certificate is valid and no exception is needed and the confirm button is disabled. When this happens I https://support.mozilla.org/questions/923768 have to use IE for a couple of days until the problem solves it self. I have tried both to restart firefox and the computer whitout any success. Any ideas? At work i'm surfing through a proxy, which uses it's own certificates on all https sites. Just updated to Firefox 33 and the "Connection is Untrusted" dialog is unchanged for me. A change like you're suggesting (removal of user choice for invalid certificates) would break so much on web interfaces across corporate intranets, many parts on the Internet, and especially SOHO devices like cable modems and WiFi routers. It's more likely that there's an actual problem connecting to the server or something. Also, the image is small. –Daniel B Oct 15 '14 at 7:27 4 I can confirm that FF33.0 fails with (Error code: sec_error_invalid_key
