But root ca certs should be installed in the ROOT certificate store. Which you can't easily drop it into with Windows Phone 7. At the moment I am not aware of a way around this. (WP7 devices aren't available for another couple of weeks where I live so I haven't had time to hack around with it properly yet. The dev device isn't really the same thing.) The better solution altogether is to get an SSL cert issued from a trusted root. A GoDaddy cert will suit y

Error code: 80072F0D This error can occur when the root error code 80072f05 lumia certificate authority that generated the SSL certificate being used by the Exchange server is not trusted by the Windows Phone device. This will commonly occur with Exchange servers that are still configured to use a self-signed certificate, or that https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/a33e0a2b-4f0e-4d2d-aec9-ebbfe8bbde87/windows-phone-7-certificate-error?forum=exchangesvrmobilitylegacy have a certificate issued from a private CA. There are a basically two ways to resolve this issue. Install an SSL Certificate from a Trusted Certificate Authority If you install an SSL certificate from a certificate authority that is already trusted by the Windows Phone device you will avoid this error when you're configuring the device for ActiveSync. You'll also avoid certificate related errors for other service such as Outlook Web App and AutoDiscover. I generally go http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-activesync-windows-phone-outlook-error-80072f0d/ with Digicert for Exchange SSL certificates, however you can choose another provider if you wish. Microsoft has published this list of certificate authorities that are trusted by Windows Phone (PDF). Install the Root Certificate on the Windows Phone Device If you can't, or won't, acquire an SSL certificate from a trusted CA then you can also install the root certificate onto your Windows Phone device so that SSL certificates from that CA will work. This is fine for test lab or training scenarios but I do not recommend it for production environments. If you've used a private CA to issue your certificate you can download the root certificate from the web enrolment page on the CA. Download the CA certificate in DER format to your computer. Next you need to get the certificate onto the Windows Phone device. You can do this in two ways: Host the certificate file on a website and browse to the URL from the Windows Phone device Email the certificate file to a service such as Gmail or Hotmail and download it to the Windows Phone device You can either access the email service via it's web interface, or set it up in the Windows Phone Outlook client to download the email to the device. When you open the certificate file from the web server or email the device should prompt you to i

When accessing it from a web browser (mobile or desktop: Firefox, Firefox Mobile for Android, certificate error windows iOS Safari, Chrome or IE11) there is no problem, but when accessing it from a Lumia 630 (WP 8.1) with the standard browser I get: "Certificate error [...]" - "We're having trouble with this site's security certificate. It looks like the security certificate wasn't issued by a trusted certificate authority. This can indicate an attempt to fool you or access information that you send to the server." The interesting thing is that other phones running WP (a Lumia 1520 running the exact same OS version, and a Lumia 920) can access the domain without getting certificate errors. I have tested the web server configuration with SSL Labs (Qualys) and it gives an overall A- rating, saying the certificate is trusted and there are no chain issues. We have tried a factory reset (and then updating) but the problem remains.
