A list of IIS servers can be found here. Step 2: Configure Exchange Virtual Directory for SSL Expand the Exchange web site within IIS and select the Exchange sub directory, right-click and select Properties. Select the Directory Security tab. In the Secure Communications section, click Edit. In the Secure Communications dialog box, check the Require secure channel (SSL) checkbox. This will force clients to connect to the Exchange OWA via an https secure channel. Verify Installation To verify if your certificate is installed correctly, use our Certificate Installation Checker. Test your SSL certificate by using a browser to connect to your server. Use the https protocol directive. For example, if your SSL was issued to secure.mysite.com, enter https://secure.mysite.com into your browser. Therefore it is not trusted by any computer outside your domain. You have two options if you want to prevent the error message: 1. Buy a Certificate from a Trusted Certificate Authority and set this up on your server 2. Install the Self-Signed Certificate into your computers Trusted Certificates Obviously number 2 would require you doing this for every computer that connects (or giving staff instructions on how to do this) 0 Message Author Comment by:christoforatos19682014-04-23 I prefer option 2. Manager, or the custom MMC containing the Internet Information Services snap-in. Expand Internet Information Services (if needed) and browse to the Web site you have a pending certificate request on. Right-click on the site and then click Properties. Click the Directory Security tab. Under the Secure Communications section, click Server Certificate. On the Web Server Certificate Wizard, click Next. Choose to Process the Pending Request and Install the Certificate. Click Next. Type in the location of the certificate response file (you may also browse to the file), and then click Next. Read the summary screen to be sure that you are processing the correct certificate, and then click Next. You will see a confirmation screen. After reading this information, click Next. You now have a secure server certificate installed. Now you must assign it in Exchange. 1. Using the Internet Services Manager, open the properties for the Exchange virtual directory. 2. Select the Directory Security tab and the click on the Edit button in the Secure Communication section. 3. In the Secure Communications dialogue box, check the box Require Secure Channel (SSL), you could also check the box Require 128-bit encryption, if you do check the 128-bit checkbox, any browsers that do not support 128-bit encryption will be unable to connect to OWA. Now when users enter http://www.yourdomain.com/exchange, they will receive an "HTTP 403.4 - Forbidden: SSL required Internet Information Services" error message, because we have configured OWA to require SSL. SSL uses the HTTPS protocol, so users would need to enter the url as https://www.yourdomain.com/exchange. © Copyright AlphaSSL. All RIghts Reserved.
