website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected. Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: Internet connectivity has been lost. The website is temporarily unavailable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. or it shows a blank page. In this case, the first thing what you should do is to verify the path to the .chm file and its name. If a folder or the file contains the # symbol like in these examples folder name: F:\C# books file name: Learn C#.chm then the solution is to rename the folder or the file and to remove the # symbol. webpageerror May 11, 2014 Obin Leave a comment Go to comments Scenario : You downloaded a chm file from the internets and when you try to open it, you see the file opening but the content shows "This program cannot display the webpage". How do you view it ?? Solution : While this is a common problem for those who download .chm files but who does nowadays, right ?? Anyways, When you try to open the file it will open but the pages that will be displayed will have the ‘This program cannot display the webpage' error as shown below : So what do you http://www.itcsolutions.eu/2010/09/29/solution-to-chm-files-problem-this-program-cannot-display-the-webpage/ do ?? Actually its quite simple… Starting with XP SP2, microsoft started blocking chms which were downloaded and since they contain html links the probablity of them linking to something sinister was higher, so they have been blocked but to unblock them, all you have to do is : 1. Navigate to the file in windows explorer. 2. Right click the file and select Properties and then you should see https://obinshah.wordpress.com/2014/05/11/chm-file-this-program-cannot-display-the-webpage-error/ just below the Advance button the Unblock button. 3. Click there and you will be able to see the chm content. Let me know if you encounter any other problem….till then stay sharp!!! This is window's attempt to stop attack vectors for viruses/mal-ware from infecting your computer and has blocked out the .chm file that draw data over the "InfoTech" protocol, which this chm file uses. Microsoft's summary of the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896054 Solutions If you are using Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, windows has created a quick fix. Right click the chm file, and you will get the "yourfile.chm Properties" dialog box, at the bottom, a button called "Unblock" appears. Click Unblock and press OK, and try to open the chm file again, it works correctly. This option is not available for earlier versions of windows before WinXP(SP3). Solve the problem by moving your chm file OFF the network drive. You may be unaware you are using a network drive, double check now: Right click your .chm file, click properties and look at the "location" field. If it starts with two backslashes like this: \\epicserver\blah\, then you are using a networked drive. So to fix it, Copy the chm file, and paste it into a local drive, like C:\ or E:. Then try to reopen the chm file, windows does not freak out. Last resort, if you can't copy

My problem is the topics are not displayed by default, ie., unless user clicks on the Toc hyperlink topic is not displayed. I need to set default file to be displayed when the help file is launched. instead of relying on user to click the Home page on Toc for display. <
