But I can get it to screw up again just by telling it to auto-update. Therefore do this and don't tell it to auto-update afterward. achtenhagen commented Feb chrome update error 7 20, 2016 Confirmed to work on Chrome version 48.0.2564.103 (64-bit). kouafi commented Feb 21, 2016 Working on Chrome v 46.0.2490.86 (64-bit). selrond commented Mar 7, 2016 Works, but don't let it auto-update - it screws it up again... beanlee commented Mar 11, 2016 It works for me. Thanks. megabitsenmzq commented Mar 16, 2016 If I turn on “Auto update for every users.” error11 will come back iamrudra commented Mar 18, 2016 @megabitsenmzq and others - I faced the same issue at work but not at home. So it seems to me that if your are in a protected network (like work or corp) you will get this error. It will update and show the new version but it will also show the error message. Just get out of the network and try and probably you'll see the relaunch button. beitsafeshuai commented Apr 14, 2016 I disabled GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent in startup list and it worked for me. nikodesanta commented Aug 2, 2016 Follow the link it is 100% working method to fix Google Chrome update failed problem Sign up for free to join this conversation on GitHub. After I set "Automatic Updates for all Users" to true at the "About" page in Google Chrome and entered my credentials (this process obviously needs root rights) this error message appears now on the "About" page: Update failed (error: 11) After I googled this error message I visited the following link that describes my problem very well: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=520135. Sadly none of the approaches works for me (Reinstallation worked neither), so I ask here if anybody has any idea to solve this problem ? osx google-chrome auto-update share|improve this question edited Aug 6 at 7:20 SeanClt 285214 asked Mar 7 at 19:14 Yannik K. 163 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote -1 down vote Just found this How To Fix Chrome Update Error 11 On A Mac Open Finder.
