I just ran into this with a canary build (24.0.1284.0), although the error I see just says "Update failed (error: 10)". Comment 2 by earthso...@gmail.com, Oct 10 2012 Processing Google chrome: 24.0.1284.0 (Official Build 159644) canary OS X 10.6.8 To followup: I followed the instructions at http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1367288?, even though the error I see just says "Update failed (error: 10)" and not "Update server not available (error: 10, 11)". The first command found underneath my user directory's Library folder failed (no such file or directory), but the 2nd one under /Library executed with no output to the terminal. I then downloaded and ran the latest Google Software Update installer and noticed that it was the same keystone version I already had: 1.1.0.3659. When I restarted chrome canary, I still see the same error on chrome://help/. Google chrome dev is updating without any problem. I too tried the solutions at https://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1367288 and http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/t9iK_JcJsuA but never had any luck.
