Posted on 2008-05-02 Network Operations VPN Networking Hardware-Other 2 Verified Solutions 15 Comments 28,557 Views Last Modified: 2008-08-13 I https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/9803881/reason-427-unknown-error-occurred-peer-vpn3020 am trying to connect via Cisco VPN client. Tech support at the remote computer end has no idea what the problem is, so for now I'm on my own. When I try to log on, I get the error: "Secure VPN Connection terminated by Peer. Reason 427: Unkown Error occurred at Peer." . I've uninstalled and reinstalled the client, I installed it on a second computer, and in all instances I get the same error. I can connect https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23372615/Cisco-VPN-Client-error-Secure-VPN-Connection-terminated-by-Peer-Reason-427-Unkown-Error-occurred-at-Peer.html to other companies using the same VPN client install. The only thing that I can find about potential problems is to switch the transport setting from IPSEC over to IPSec over TCP. But I would need a Port number. What Port number should I use? Or what can I direct tech-support where to look to determin. It has 10000 by default and that didn't work. I also tried unchecking Enable Transparent Tunneling. Also, for troubleshooting, I enabled logging. However the log does not show any error or information related to this problem. 0 Question by:crxi Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution bycrxi Someone other than the tech support tried to vpn using my id and pw. In our corporate we are using TMG 2010 R2, our users are facing problem in connecting Cisco VPN which they use to connect to our client location, when https://itthatshouldjustwork.blogspot.com/2015/07/cisco-64-bit-vpn-client-on-windows-10.html the users initiate connection the logon prompt box for VPN credential appears, once the users put the credential they get a Error 427: Unknown Error occurred at Peer.Below is the error screenshot. we previously were using ISA 2006 it cisco vpn is woking perfectly fine and still working properly. I have already added the UDP port 10000, 4500 and 500 onto the allow policy, i don't know if i am missing anything in TMG since its working perfectly in ISA. kindly help me on this since its taken a toll on me and i am not able to roll out ISA due to this problem.Micheal Nishit Wednesday, November 02, 2011 10:25 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign 427 unknown error in to vote Hi, Thank you for the post. Please make sure to set the client as SecureNET, that is the default getway for the this client should be pointing to TMG Server internal ip. Meanwhile, I’d like to know the following: 1. Does this issue occur to all the clients? 2. What OS of the problematic machines? 3. What is TMG logging tell? Regards,Nick Gu - MSFT Thursday, November 03, 2011 5:31 AM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote Hi Nick First of all Thanks for looking and helping me on the issue. We have already added the Route for the VPN IP to our local IP of TMG onto our core switch to enable the SecureNet. Below are the answers for your question: 1. Yes this issue occurs to all the client. 2. Its Windows XP SP3 with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 (FYI: I have disabled the Symantec and tried still the same problem) 3. In the logging when the user initiate the connection it says connection initiated on UDP 500 and IPsec NAT-T Client 4500 and then the login prompt box appear, once the credential is given there is no logging recorded then an error pops up in user system of which the above screenshot is mentioned and i get a logging stating closed connection UDP 500 and IP
Client on Windows 10 (Including build 1607) - This works! ***Please see my edits below for notes on build 1607 and build 1511.** Here's how to get it working in 2 easy steps: 1. Download and install the Sonicwall 64-bit VPN client fromHERE(as of this writing). 2. Install the Cisco VPN client. Edit: If you get an error that it cannot run on this operating system then just extract the .exe file and run the .msi file. Problem solved. 32-bit Windows 7/Vista/XP VPN Client (version 5.0.07) 64-bit Windows 7/Vista/VPN Client (version 5.0.07) 3. Optional if needed: Open regedit Browse to the registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA Select the display name to modify: x86 - "@oem8.ifn,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter" to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter" x64 -"@oem8.ifn,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows" to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows" Reboot The first two steps worked for me without the need for registry edit. I checked and the settings were already spelled correctly on my machine. Full disclosure my systems are clean Windows 10 installs without being upgrades. Without installing the Sonicwall client first you will get Error 433 after trying to connect. Checking the logs shows that it cannot download the key to complete the secure connection. What happens is that the Sonicwall client adds the DNE Lightweight filter network client on the machine. I tried getting it directly from Citrix and installing it that way but was unsuccessful. Using this method you can now get some more use out of the Cisco VPN client. If you prefer you can uninstall the Sonicwall client afterwards. I've been told by several people that the DNE software remains even after the Sonicwall client is removed. Version 1607 Build 14393.10 EDIT: Updated 08/03/2016 All of the steps abo
