Cerificates themselves are stored spread around in multiple files. Files starting with p likely hold private key related details, and files starting with c hold request related things. Files alternate after each change, http://www.securityie.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=003709 the previous version gets a name with a letter incremented by one. The main ones are .fpt (likely keys), .cdx (something related to request), c*.fpt holds the CA requests - all of them sequentially. p*.fpt has 1536 byte records that are encrypted - and encryption key is not the cartificate password. If you want to play around, .fpt format is simple, dword meaning sequence number, dword meaning record lengt, and then actual data.
