As I work from home from time to time I have Cisco VPN Client installed so that I can connect to the company IT system. Last week the VPN would connect but I could not get any traffic to cross the link, I know it was not a link\VPN issue as I was able to make a VPN connection using my XP PC and connect and work on the company IT system without a problem. When I checked Device Manager on my windows 7 PC under network adapters I noticed I had the yellow excalamtion mark on against them (see attached picture). I have tried to unistall them and

I am trying to set up a Cisco VPN client on a remote user's laptop and am seeing all kinds of odd behavior. System details: OS: cisco vpn client Windows 2000 Pro Antivirus: Symantec Corp. Edition (realtime scanning disabled) Firewall: Zone Alarm, Free version (disabled entirely at this point) Cisco client version: 4.04 (also tried 4.7, but it would not install) Port info: TCP/10000 WindowsUpdate Status: patched, all H/W and S/W running current versions. I should begin with this system had a bunch of customized software as it used to be in a large corporate network, but I believe I have removed all of it. The user account has full administrative privileges. When I tried to install the 4.7 client, I received an error midway through. (Sorry, but I didn't take notes on that one...it wasn't an error I'd seen before.) After a few tries, I rolled back to 4.04. 4.04 install went smoothly, but I now receive the following errors from the connection log: 17 17:52:02.310 03/26/04 Sev=Warning/2 CVPND/0xE3400003 Function CreateFile failed with an error code of 0x00000002(DRVIFACE:718) Thanks again! 0 Question by:talgren Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 10 Best Solution byfm250 try to do complete unista
permissions (full access to everyone on cisco folder in program files), uninstalled all firewall and anti-virus software, uninstalled the cisco vpn client and reinstalled, and even tried two different versions of the client and I still get the same thing (except in the newer version I get DRVIFACE:718 instead of 725). I am running this on a Sony Vaio VGN-AX570G with MCE installed. Please help a brother out. - log below: Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.6.03.0021 Copyright (C) 1998-2005 Cisco Systems, Inc.
