This is an accumulation of resolutions found in the https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/120150-fix-cisco-vpn-error-27850-on-windows-10 past for Windows 7 and 8. Steps (4 total) 1 Ensure you are using the lastest version of Cisco VPN Client At the time, the most recent version https://www.puryear-it.com/install-cisco-vpn-client-windows-10 is 5.0.07.0440, You will need to have an active account with Cisco to get this - This may not be required, but I did not try with earlier versions. cisco vpn 2 Pre-Install the DNE software The issue seems to be with Cisco's installer not being able to make the required changes to fully add the DNE driver to the system. You can avoid it needing to if you pre-install it. You can get this from Citrix's site here: http://www.citrix.com/go/lp/dne.html About 1/2 way down, you will find the cisco vpn dne "Other DNE Problems" with links to 32-bit and 64-bit versions of this. 3 Install the Cisco VPN Client Once the DNE is installed, the Cisco software should now work correctly... Install it now. 4 More issues: Reason 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapter Like in previous versions of Windows, the registry key for the driver ends up with information in front of the name that prevent the VPN software from enabling the Virtual Adapter. This can be fixed by correcting the registry key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA\DisplayName It will be preceded by something like "@oemX.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;" remove this so the line entry reads similar to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows" Conclusion Now you should be able to add your VPN details and start correctly. Hope this helps pull all the information together for others... Finally I was able to install CISCO VPN Client on Windows 10. There was a small problem: Only double clicking and then next…next..next doesn't work with vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9 on windows 10. I had to extract it first and then run vpnclient_setup file manually. You may need to change compatibility mode of vpnclient_setup file before running it. Thanks a lot again.
