Not generally an issue except it's a pain in this one case where I uninstalled (or tried to) Cisco VPN then tried to reinstall it. Now, because the uninstall didn't really work, there is still basically an install with no way to remove the cisco vpn installer software and I get the following when I try to install it: Pop up window titled: Installer Information With the following text: Error 28000: Before installing the Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.07.0240, you must uninstall the previous version of Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.07.0240, using Add/Remove Program Files option in the Control Panel. Then restart your system. So there it is. I've looked everywhere I can think of to no avail. I want to basically force the install to ignore errors but not even sure that's possible. If not, I'd love to know what it still sees on my drive that it's balking at. I got rid of all things CISCO in the registry, got rid of the CISCO directory in "program files" Removed the CISCO VPN service. Removed the CISCO adapter. There are probably divers out there, but not really sure what the name of those are. I tried to remove the dne64x.sys from drivers as I saw some text somewhere to do that but that hammered my main adapter. Can anyone tell me what I need to remove to get this install to work? I'll be happy to install, then remove,

Only important information in all that is probably Vista for this issue, but the more info the better. VPN 5.02 was locking up when launching the application. I went to go reinstall the application since everything else on the system was functioning properly. And I was uninstalling Cisco VPN and the machine locked up. I let it sit for about 3 hours and then decided to reboot. After rebooting the system and trying to install Cisco VPN 5.02 it comes up with "Error 28000 Befor installing the Cisco System VPN Client 5.0.02.0090, you must uninstall the previous version of Cisco systems VPN client 5.0.02.0090, using the add/ remove program files option in the control panel. Then restart your system" In the add/remove programs cisco was not showing up, so I found a guide to uninstall it manually How to uninstall Cisco VPN client. I removed the cisco folder from program files and deleted the cisco directory in the registery, but could not delete any of the others. When trying to delete the DeterminsticNetworks directory in the registry I get an "Error Deleting Key, Cannot delete DeterministicNetworks: Error while deleting key." I have rebooted and tried again several times, and downloaded a microsoft uninstaller with no luck of cisco showing up to uninstall. Please assist & Thank you in advance.
