Cmos Checksum Error - New Motherboard Started by jagdog , Jan 21 2006 02:42 PM Please log in to reply 4 replies to this topic #1 jagdog jagdog Members 3 posts OFFLINE Local time:09:21 PM Posted 21 January 2006 - 02:42 PM I purchased this motherboard to build a new machine. From the first time I tried to boot the machine I get a CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded error on the first screen after the drives check in. If I make any changes in the SETUP my video goes away. The only way I can get the video back is to reset CMOS with the jumper. I was able to load Windows through many CMOS resets, but if I shut the machine down from Windows or try to reboot from Windows my video won't come back unless I reset CMOS. Even if I remove everything but the processor and one DIMM of RAM it still fails. The jumpers are in the correct place. Please help - this motherboard was purchased over 30 days ago so I cannot return it. Back to top BC AdBot (Login to Remove) BleepingComput
